Don Lemon has tweeted that he's been fired by CNN after 17 years.
In a statement posted to Twitter, he wrote: 'I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.
'At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network.
'It is clear that there are some larger issues at play. With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.'
CNN chief executive officer Chris Licht confirmed the firing in an internal message, thanking Lemon for 17 years on air and telling staff he would 'forever be a part of the CNN family.'

Don lemon has been hired by Fox News to take over the Tucker Carlson show. The new direction comes out of the dominion lawsuit. In order to settle the other lawsuit they have to hire Don lemon and change the reviews from conservative to extreme liberal.

That picture doesn’t have quite the same effect on the same day we learned of Tucker’s firing by Fox.

Yeah, Tucker will be fine, and better off away from Paul Ryan, Brett Teeth, etc. at Fox.
Clearly, management didn’t “love” your work as much as you thought they did. And, I’d wager to say CNN’s market isn’t too sad to see you go. Think maybe there’s a message there, Don?

I’m glad there is some good news today.
Lemon never demonstrated decency towards anyone. Why should he expect any in return? Seventeen years.... sixteen years too many.
But seriously, what if Tucker went to CNN? Nuclear level meltdowns all over. Would be surreal.

When you’ve said many outrageous things but then say a female politician “isn’t in her prime”....oh, you crossed the line!
