Tlaib (Commie-MI) joins calls for Feinstein to resign after another GOP win in the Senate

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has joined the ranks of some of her fellow Democrats in calling on Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to resign from the Senate due to her prolonged absence clogging up judicial nominations and costing the party some key votes.

Tlaib’s comments come in response to a Senate vote on Wednesday to cancel an Environmental Protection Agency mandate that sought to tighten regulations on nitrogen oxides and particulate matter emitted from heavy-duty vehicles. The bill narrowly passed the Senate with a 50-49 vote, with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) joining all Republicans backing the measure - prompting anger among some Democrats who say Feinstein’s presence would’ve tanked the GOP effort.

Because Sen. Feinstein was absent, Republicans are passing legislation through the Senate, undermining the right of our residents to breathe clean air,” Tlaib tweeted. “And with a far-right judiciary targeting our human rights, we are unable to confirm judges. Sen. Feinstein must step down.”

In calling on Feinstein to resign, Tlaib joins Democratic colleagues such as Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who offered similar sentiments earlier this week - renewing calls from earlier this month that the California senator should be replaced.

“Because Senator Feinstein was absent, the Senate overturned a Biden rule that would cut pollution from heavy duty trucks and causes harm to people’s lungs,” Khanna said on Thursday. “We are putting decorum over democracy and our values. It’s time for Senator Feinstein to step down gracefully.”

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) also called on Feinstein to resign earlier this month, urging other Democrats to do the same.

"Senator Feinstein is a remarkable American whose contributions to our country are immeasurable," Phillips tweeted on April 12. "But I believe it’s now a dereliction of duty to remain in the Senate and a dereliction of duty for those who...

I love the Communist party designation. It fits like a glove.

Diane Feinstein should keep her seat. She is more effective for sanity by maintaining her Senate seat. Unless she manages to come back.

Yes. It’s poetic justice that one of their favored gambits (in absentia) is now backfiring on them.

I think she is doing just that. Make no mistake, Feinstein and her ilk know exactly what they are doing, her staff know exactly how long she can be absent and at the right moment she will reappear, rested and ready to resume her duties much like Fetterman.

So a filibuster was not applicable to this legislation but Biden can still veto it, as I understand the Congressional Review Act.

First of all - in the Old Republic, Members of one House of Congress never spoke about Members or events in the “other body”, because they were SEPARATE and represented different things - the voters, in the case of the House, and the States, in the case of the Senate.

In Our Democracy, this is no longer the case. Senators are just SuperCongressmen with longer terms and bigger districts (and richer donors with fatter bank accounts).

There really is no reason to require 2/3 of SuperCongressmen
to ratify treaties, for example, or to try impeachments because those are not acts of the People, but of states United. Since the States no longer have Federal representation, they are cut out of war, judicial nominations, cabinet members, treaties, impeachments, confirmation of flag rank officers, etc such that rather than a Union of States organized as a Republic, we have Our Democracy instead.

Our Democracy is a much less stable form of government than the Old Republic, we have already transitioned from rule by prophets (a chicken in every pot) to rule by judges (bake the cake, bigot), and if you know your Bible you know what’s next, since there is nothing new under the sun.

Where will we be exiled? We’ve already had a crack at Babylon. Maybe Western China.

The left will build the biggest, best border wall money can buy when the time comes to keep us here as slaves.
