I think I liked them best as the original band. Hotel California might’ve been a nice album, but I really missed the old crew.

And no original member Randy Meisner playing bass and singing those high tenor vocals.

Though Henley is a major leftist, I’ve had the opportunity to see him on his solo tour - once in 2016 and again in 2019.

His shows were great! I hope he decides (after the Eagles finally hang it up) to go on one more solo tour. The last two times he was in the Twin Cities he kept his political thoughts to him self and played only music.

If Glenn Frey isn’t there, it ain’t The Eagles.

Wife and I saw them in Columbia SC this past March. Excellent show. We stayed within walking distance of the arena, which made it even better.

Funny story from Joe Walsh. He said the best party he had ever been to was in Columbia SC in the late 70s. He said “I stayed up three days straight one night in Columbia”.

I found out later that he had opened for Stevie Nicks in 1979, and her tour ended in Columbia SC, and they had a blow out end of tour party. I’m sure that was what Walsh was referring to.

Also, Walsh continually cracked up Vince Gill with his stories. At one point Gill walked back and sat on a riser listening to Walsh. Gill literally rolled over on his side laughing, finally managing to get back to the mic in time for the next song.

And yeah, as most know, Walsh is a serious talent on guitar, and so is Vince Gill.

I saw them at the bicentennial concert, July 4 1976, at Tampa Stadium. Loggins and Messina, Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. The Eagles were on their Hotel California tour. I also saw them the next year in Orlando at the Tangerine Bowl. They were with Hall and Oates and Jimmy Buffett. Don’t want to deal with the crowds again.

Ditto. Saw Pete and the boys at Shea Stadium, Queens NYin October, 1982.

Local news crews interviewed Pete and Roger separately before the two concerts there (separately was the only way to do it because they deliberately had separate accomodations). Look for the interviews (as well as one of the two Shea concerts in its entirety) on YouTube. Roger was beyond frustrated and Pete a total drama queen.

I’m sure they’re not taking it easy on the ticket prices! But I agree with other comments, without Frey, Felder, Meisner, etc. it’s not the same. But hey, if people will pay for it, why not?

I heard that they were very good.

I saw their "Hotel California" tour just before the pandemic shut everything down. I went to the very last show, March 7, 2020. Everything after that was immediately canceled.

They were great.

I saw them a couple years ago with Vince Gill doing most of the Glen Frey parts. Glen’s son did some as well. Chris Stapleton opened. I enjoyed it, especially since the tickets were free.

"Trying to Get to You"--the only Eagles song to be covered by Elvis Presley--and in my opinion, it's one of Elvis' better songs.

The Eagles' Version

Elvis Presley's version

Interesting factoid on that ‘82 tour. We put that show in Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ in 16 hours. Normally would take around 4 to 5 days. There was a football game the day/night before. We didn’t get the stadium until 11 PM that night. Insanity, never been done before. I & their production manager had to figure how to do it. Absolutely huge crew & forklifts running everywhere. We did it & opened the gates at 3 PM show day.

Without Glen Frey they just ain’t the same...............

No Bernie Leadon either. Founding member.

Or, Randy Meisner and Don Felder.

Timothy B. Schmidt and Vince Gill can just go away.
