Cops are called to Michigan GOP gathering as brawl breaks out over locked room with one Republican leader saying another 'kicked me in my balls'

A gathering of the Michigan Republican party on Saturday night turned physical and put one person in the emergency room, another 'kicked in the balls and cops called to break up the brawl.

Tensions boiled over at the Doherty Hotel in Clare, Michigan, as the GOP's state committee came together to discuss the party's direction and the leadership under new chairwoman Kristina Karamo.

As Michigan Republicans arrived at the venue, some found that the door where the meeting was taking place had already been locked and was limited to members of the state committee.

It left some Republicans frustrated as they were left to stand out in the cold.

James Chapman, a Republican from Wayne County, had traveled to Clare for the meeting only to be forced to listen to it through a locked door. When he tried to get inside, the melee started and included Chapman kicking another member in the groin.

Chapman told The Detroit News how he and others said the Pledge of Allegiance together in the lobby of the hotel - outside of the meeting.

He then attempted to get inside by turning the doorknob of the meeting room. He jiggled the doorknob of the meeting room but found it was locked shut.

Mark DeYoung, chairman of the Clare County Republican Party, came to the door and claimed to have seen someone curse at him through one of the windows.

Upon opening the door, DeYoung said he was instantly attacked.

'He kicked me in my balls as soon as I opened the door,' DeYoung told the outlet, noting how Chapman took a run at him - slamming him into a chair.

The force of the kick caused DeYoung to fall to the floor, breaking a rib in the process. He had to be taken to hospital.

I’m a guy, but I know for sure that getting kicked in the privates causes more pain than giving birth.

No guy ever said “Kick me again”, while many women will say “Let’s have another baby!”

“as the GOP’s state committee came together to discuss the party’s direction and the leadership under new chairwoman Kristina Karamo.”

We went from an almost completely red state to a completely blue state in one election cycle. In fact the MI state house and the state senate were both lost last fall at the same time for the first time in decades, might as well be CA or IL right now.

Why is this? No, not because because the whole state went commie all of a sudden, it’s because the days of voting the lesser of evils is over. Conservative leaning (much of the state) people are just not gonna turn out to give the state GOPe another ‘chance.’ It’s about time somebody got their balls kicked.

And oh, term limits don’t work - at least the state level.

Is Chapman the uniparty Republican and DeYoung the MAGA Republican?

That's my guess.

It’s about time somebody got their balls kicked.

So you think Chapman is MAGA and DeYoung is the uniparty shill? I was thinking it was the other way around.

Unless it is MTG, no Republican has ever been kicked in the balls. They don’t have any balls to be kicked.

Men have a very odd brotherhood of "Being Hit In The Stones".

When a guy gets hit in the twins and falls insensible to the ground, the brotherhood of men gather around him. If it is a pickup softball game after work, or the Super Bowl, when a guy gets hit and goes down clasping his cojones, his friends on the field gather around him, as do millions of men who may be watching a professional on television. Or even listening on the radio.

But that isn't really the funny thing.

What I find amusing is the reaction of the victim's friends.

All the guys gathering around in sympathy tend to shift nervously from foot to foot, and make various ribald jokes about being hit in the nuts as they view their prostrate comrade in pain. It seems to be a universal thing.

Every single guy completely sympathizes, and the comments are almost always like "Well, I guess you won't be plying your trade in the bedroom tonight, Mr. Stud-muffin!" or "I think everyone's daughter will be safe for a few days!" These are always accompanied by a smattering of nervous tittering from all the guys, while the guy on the ground is doubled up, hands in the groin white faced, sweating, with eyes tightly shut into black slits.

There is something humorous about being hit in the nuts when it isn't you being hit. I remember playing in a softball game alongside my best friend who went in the Navy with me. He was in center field, and a guy hit a blistering line drive directly at him. He was pretty good, and he was going to catch it on a single hop while running at full speed towards it and in a single motion, catch the ball on the short bounce and immediately hurl the ball to home plate to catch the baserunner going in to score.

Except that he misjudged the bounce. It bounced and came up, but instead of landing in his glove he was holding upside down in front of him, went about an inch under the glove and hit him squarely in the testicles.

He dropped like a bag of cement, but struggled to his feet, picked up the ball, flung it weakly towards home plate, then collapsed immediately into a heap.

It was the most heroic thing I had ever seen. (Only kidding, it wasn't, but...in that moment it was impressive!)

Yup. Unreal the stuff the Dems are passing in my home state. The whole state almost all red counties. 7 or so blue counties controlling the whole place. Michigan has had some great candidates also..Dixon, James, Karamo, Craig....I don’t get it.

She had no connection to the regular people.

Ronna Romney doing a bang-up job (no pun intended) of bringing the party together /s.

The problem is that the loser moderates have had control of the party for so long that they refuse to allow conservatives/MAGA a seat at the table. Add in a stolen election in 2020 (and probably 2022) that was likely aided by said loser moderates, and this is what happens.
