This is a cheap tourism campaign to lure stupid people to spend $$ in the community.

No one has ever actually taken a clear verifiable photo of one of these things, dogs can't seem to track them, no one has ever trapped one or there has never been a carcass of one ever found.

My advice would be SHOOT IT DEAD. Can you imagine the fame for being the person to FINALLY bag a bigfoot and to be able to put the speculation to bed once and for all? Mixed feelings about that. He did me no harm, and I doubt that he's good eating. But "bagging" him would likely result in mandated protection for his kind.
