I’m for Trump in his court cases, but I’m for DeSantis in the primary. Yes, it’s possible, and I’m far from the only one.
I think people are so hungry for a glimmer of light, we will glom onto anything that gives us a ray of hope.
I was kinda liking some of the things he was saying...not that I would consider him Prez material. I only became aware of him recently, but as soon as someone on FR posted a negative tweet of his regarding President Trump after Jan 6, that was it. It told me what I needed to know. He’s swampy. I don’t care if people criticize Trump over substance. I don’t worship him, and I understand where he is weak. But when you join the lying Dems, that’s it for me. I really can’t trust you after that. I’m forever tainted and sensitive against anyone with even a whiff of swamp on them.
No doubt about it. I was just talking to my sister and she actually wants to believe in this guy, because he's saying the things she's desperate to hear. I just said "most things that appear too good to be true, usually are" because she doesn't understand all the politics at work here, or even care to know that level of detail. She just wants an easy out, like most people.
But I think America was traumatized by the Covid ordeal, and the Election/J6 fiascos in 2020. A lot of people are still shell shocked from it all, and suffered PTSD type symptoms. Expect it to continue. They are trying to rattle the foundations of America as quickly and as hard as they can, to continue this mental tortue, trying to push us to break. To the point we'll look towards politicians as our saviors. At that point, they can completely push us over the edge.
Question everything, in response, is the best advice I can give.
Good grief! Half of our side is going to rip down everybody that isn’t Saint Donald Trump! I don’t think even Ronald Reagan could win some of yalls votes! What’s so troubling is that with that kind of philosophy- based solely on one person- you prevent there ever being a broad enough movement to win elections. Great so the entire plan is Trump! Trump! Trump! ... he’s 80. If he loses this election, who do you want to run next election in 2028? You are torpedoing everybody else. You are creating an environment where Noone can get nominated or elected, including Trump & there will be Noone to take his place or pick up the banner because all yall do is destroy everything else. Meanwhile Democrats love us being divided, use whatever tactic they have to to win elections & they win! Dear God, establishment Republicans are dreadful, but yall aren’t really any better. The establishment can win elections but stand for nothing I believe in; Or yall can lose elections even though I agree with most of what you say because you are truly terrible at building a constructive coalition and turning out voters. These are our only viable choices? Really? Anyone else interested in a third choice? 🙄😵💫🤨

I certainly have. Right before I was reading your post, I was telling my friend on the phone how I have very little hope for America’s future...as we once thought it was. I told him the same after the election. That was the nail in the coffin for me. But I’ve been demoralized by the events in our country over the last 6 years. Longer than that actually, but things are getting progressively worse by the day since Trump was elected and they went totally unAmerican on him and us and our country’s tenets...like nothing we have ever experienced. It doesn’t help that I’m recovering from, most likely, COVID again. (Effing little rat that caused all this misery in the world needs to be tried for crimes against humanity.) Probably my fourth or fifth time to have it now as I work in a large warehouse and have to be around a multitude of people when at work. That and the personal struggles of everyday life and surviving, it’s making it quite hard to stay positive and upbeat. Everyday I feel like they are tightening the noose just a little bit more.
So I get your sister wanting to believe in this guy. I get people wanting to believe in RFK Jr. We are desperate for someone decent in politics. Someone that’s genuine and who actually believes what they say and believes in the America as it was founded. I’m just more jaded than your sister. I’ve been disappointed too many times. And I’m worn out.

Vivek Ramaswamy was like most of America after the 2020 elections. The media and the Justice Department made sure there was no forensic analysis done on the ballot counts. Doubt about the election legitimacy was shut down. Anyone who doubted the counts was shut down on the social media or red tagged by the FBI. The J6 protest was a excuse to round people up and defame their voice against the election legitimacy. We had a total black-out of information, Soviet style. The American public, hearing no proof of a stolen election, thought the MAGA people and President Trump needed to be checked into mental wards—or jail cells Soviet style.
Vivek, fell into the Swamp’s and media’s effort of a total black-out of any suggestion of a stolen election. Preident Trump and the MAGA crowd were cast as sore losers—or worse, criminals.
The problem with Vivek is he is like someone who stepped into the dog poo. The question is, how does one clean it off the shoe and get rid of the stink?

I'm sorry for your despair, but I heard it in my sister's voice tonight too, when she surprised me by talking about her eventual death for the first time I can remember in a very long time. She's mid sixties, but still in good health so that was totally out of the blue for her. People are getting tired of life, sadly. I told her just turn it all off if it just makes you frustrated, there's no true saviors on that boob tube, ESPECIALLY politicians, and just focus on living your life the way God would want you to.
She perked up quite a bit after that, and we turned our discussion towards our favorite online pastors we listen to while working, and old family memories, you know the more important stuff. I think that's the way to go, re-prioritize your life and put the pathetic liars and scammers arguing over DC down low on your priority list more often.

This is so funny because I was just having this discussion with her. I told her EVERY politician will eventually let you down. The more you get to know them, or the more they are in front of the camera, the more it eventually leaks out until you finally realize they are actually a rat too!
I told her the example of Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe) being my congressman at one point in the past. This was the district Matt Gaetz currently supports and the congressmen from there are always hard core extreme right. Scarborough used to run these 30 minute infomercials on TV every night where he just lambasted Bill Clinton, Jesse Jackson, you name it on the left. I went to his events, even stayed late a few times to shake his hand. He had us all FOOLED! Or, he's fooling people NOW.
I learned not only from him, but following others like GW Bush as well, that NONE of these politicians can be trusted. Do NOT fall prey to their spells. You will fell so much better when you break free of your perceived obligations to support them, which only drag you down. Just consider them as nothing more than a TV news anchor on your local TV station. Someone who wants the limelight, who tries to sell you BS someone else gave them half the time or more. If you can do it, I promise you will feel so much better! They are NOTHING but charlatans! The whole lot. Use them for what you can, but never have faith. Thanks.
