The difference between 1960 and 2020 was that the election fraud then was a small scale conspiracy involving the Kennedys and two people: Lyndon Johnson and Richard Daley, whereas the 2020 version involved at least six states and was likely coordinated by rogue elements in the Federal government and numerous state and county officials. To the ruling elite of 1960, it was a matter of indifference whether Nixon or Kennedy won. They were both part of what we now call the Uniparty. Their successors in 2020 definitely wanted Trump out and likely spent way more money than Joe Kennedy did.

The Battle of Athens, Tennessee, 1946 (sometimes called the McMinn County War) is a true incident of a group of people, many WWII vets, that wouldn't take it any more. The only person charged was a deputy who shot a black man trying to vote. After a legitimate vote count, "Each veteran candidate won at a proportion of roughly two votes to everyone against."
Pretty hard to get away with it these days.
An excerpt:
They demanded that Cantrell and Mansfield count the ballot boxes in public. It is hard to pin down exactly how the conflict started, but White claims he fired the first shot.
Veterans took up positions on nearby rooftops and rained fire down on the jail.

I’ve heard West Virginia (IIRC the state(was in play as well. That JFK was going to lose WV rhe day of the election and his father, Joe, called up some of his bootlegging Mafia friends and the managed to change votes to put him over the top at the 11th hour.

Unfortunately, without these method types to enforce good behavior, the bad people will keep doing things like this.

In Texas LBJ had his enemies killed.
Then they voted “correctly” from the grave.

Nixon was a very complex person.
The Cabal definitely had their hooks into him and there was no way he could contest the stolen election without their consent.
On the other hand he was very angry about the theft and took it personally. I am convinced the anger was real.

I was 12 at the time. The day of the election I walked up to the junior high school where elections were being held and wrote in chalk in the parking lot, “Vote for Nixon and Lodge. They Understand What Peace Demands.” That night I watched the election returns. My Father right away said the election had been stolen by Kennedy. Within the week it was reported that there had been voter fraud in Cook County, Illinois. Kennedy paid for that fraud with his life.

4,000 votes separate them in the end.
General view is that around 500 members of the Jim Jones sect (using buses) went from district to district....voting. Whether 100-percent true or not....people believe a fraudulent vote.

Tennesseans strong! Yep. Know a family there that owns a barge towing business that operates up & down the Mississippi. One time they got buses together to get a bunch of us to a University of Tennessee football game. Go Big Orange! ;o)

Well, Now it’s a precedent.
If the election gets stolen then it’s incumbent on the vanquished to go quietly into the darkness. They will shuffle this back into the memory hole the next time Trump (or anyone like him) takes the whitehouse.

“40 years ago was 1983.”
Exactly so, I remember the discussion, which came up on the release of one of Nixons books.
