A young award-winning County Cork inventor says the only way climate change can be tackled is if more people are inspired through education to care about the environment and are encouraged to come up with creative solutions.

A Google Global Grand Prize winner and more recently a recipient of a European Inventors Award, Fionn Ferreira, a chemistry masters student from Ballydehob in west Cork, recently patented his novel method of removing microplastic particles from water.

According to the United Nations, there are more than 51 trillion microplastic particles in the seas, 500 times more than the number of stars in our galaxy.

The global crisis of plastic waste accumulation has deeply affected and inspired the 22-year-old. […]

He uses a magnetic liquid mixture, which binds to microplastic particles to separate them from water, allowing for their removal using magnets.

His latest prototype removed over 85% of microplastics and can be used safely in drinking water.

The west Cork man is currently working with the University of Texas to scale his invention for use commercially in areas such as water treatment plants and large-scale water outflow points. …

Wonder if the magic “magnetic liquid mixture” might end up being polluting in and of itself.

That’s great, but there’s no such thing as manmade “climate change” (formerly “global warming”, formerly “New Ice Age”).

How about we pump the water into a desert or drought ridden area, then burn the water at high temps, the plastic is consumed and we create rain in the desert.
patent pending by Professor Pat Pending.

I assume that the magnetic particles are iron based and will quickly degrade in the general environment through oxidation into common and benign iron compounds. In other words, the magnetic particles will rust away.

“Poorly written, isn’t it?”

Comparing a particle size of a few millimeters to a star a million kilometers in width is not exactly an analogy one would use.

Well since there’s an all-out frenzy to discontinue the use of petroleum products, it’s all hypocrisy unless plastics go away as well.

It’s brilliant! There really is only one way to fix “climate change.” Apply Alinksy to the left and hold them to their standards. What do I mean by that?

1. Build nuclear reactors.
2. Build desalination facilities that can be run by nuclear reactors.
3. Build pipelines that will run from the desalination facilities to arid areas where new crops can be grown, creating new economies, better health conditions and green the planet at the same time.
4. Clear cut forests and get rid of the underbrush which fuels the massive fires that we experience.
5. Build what I would call incinerator ships that will scour rivers and oceans and collect all garbage and burn it at high heat as to not release toxins into the air.
6. Move the UN out of New York and move it to Mogadishu.
7. Nuke Mogadishu from outerspace just to be sure.

That’s how you fix all of this and it still will cost less than what the idiots on the left are doing.

A very small percentage of humans understand hydrocarbon cracking and how many products are produced via petroleum.
