The ACE2 receptor accelerates but is not biochemically required for SARS-CoV-2 membrane fusion

Abstract The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infects human cells via the ACE2 receptor. Structural evidence suggests that ACE2 may not just serve as an attachment factor but also conformationally activate the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein for membrane fusion. Here, we test that hypothesis directly, using DNA-lipid tethering as a synthetic attachment factor in place of ACE2. We find that SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus and virus-like particles are capable of membrane fusion without ACE2 if activated with an appropriate protease. Thus, ACE2 is not biochemically required for SARS-CoV-2 membrane fusion. However, addition of soluble ACE2 speeds up the fusion reaction. On a per-spike level, ACE2 appears to promote activation for fusion and then subsequent inactivation if an appropriate protease is not present. Kinetic analysis suggests at least two rate-limiting steps for SARS-CoV-2 membrane fusion, one of which is ACE2 dependent and one of which is not. Since ACE2 serves as a high-affinity attachment factor on human cells, the possibility to replace it with other factors implies a flatter fitness landscape for host adaptation by SARS-CoV-2 and future related coronaviruses.

I excerpted due to the high rate of retracted scientific papers.

However, upon a cursory read I believe that this will be one of the papers which will NOT be retracted.

Not just the covid pseudovirus, but also the spikevax injected without the virus.
The damaging agent…is spike protein attaching to tissue, causing inflammation and damage.

Strong hearts of physically fit people, like athletes, have more ACE-2 receptors. May also be a genetic trait.

Explains imho “ died suddenly” of massive heart attack in young seeming healthy people.

Gee, almost like the Covid-19 virus was designed for human transmission

SARS COV2-COVID 19

Event 201-"Plannedemic"

any way it is pronounced it is still just Big Pharma extortion/racketeering based on a cold/flu virus and everyone fell for it

I do not know for what reason this paper would be retracted. It is describing the biochemistry of SARS-CoV-2 virion/host lipid membrane fusion. Its main finding is that the ACE2 receptor is not absolutely required for the SARS-CoV-2 virion to fuse with a lipid membrane, although it is still necessary to tether the virus to the membrane for this to occur.

Membrane fusion occurs between lipid bilayers. The role of the proteins is to place those bilayers in close proximity so that fusion can take place. The implication of this paper is that SARS-CoV-2 virions can potentially bind to cells lacking the ACE2 receptor, resulting in a greater range of tissue tropism. This, in turn, increases the potential for tissue damage during Covid infection.

Both the scientific content and the experimental methodology of this paper are sound.

There are many reasons that scientific papers are retracted. One common reason is that they are repeats of other published papers. Other reasons can be that the data is questionable, the experiments are unrepeatable, or even that there is evidence of fraud. Sometimes antivax/charlatans will write a pseudopaper intended to promote misinformation and actually succeed in getting it published.

The irony is that it reinforces the accidental lab leak hypothesis: Now that the virus is endemic, even the elites can’t avoid it.

I was at the local hospital just this morning for work and overheard a couple of nurses discussing a patient who’d tested positive for the virus.

The ignorant proclaim there’s no risk from either the virus or the jabs, i.e., after having had the jab; I know a few of us who think otherwise.

Don’t focus on my reluctance to copy/paste/format the entire paper.

I believe it’s sound as well, especially the more of it I digest.

Excellent research posting, thank you. In the introduction is the mechanism of infection of SARS-Covid 19 being related to the Spike S protein that is all over the virion of coronaviruses like SARS-Covid 19. Based on the RMD region binding protein. This is critical.

Since the genome of the Covid 19 virion contents (ie. the disease genes) could not be sequenced nor a true vaccine created to deal with the infection— instead the “vaccine” was created from the S-Protein (which has mutated many times since the original bug). ACE 2 receptors are most densely located in the lining of the bronchi of the lungs. Essential for lung function, vaso and broncho constriction. In prevention of the “key” of the S-proteins on the surface of the virion of Covid-19... the ACE2 receptor is the “lock” the “key” is looking to link up. This article points out the receptor accelerates the key “insertion” to a receptor on a lung cell and the virion contents then get into the cell and replicate in the cellular matrix... rapidly.

The “vaccines” never were vaccines both due to the zoonotic (transfer to mammalian reservoirs in nature, dogs, cats, monkeys, all sorts of proven vector reservoirs that can then release the virus back out to humans) properties that provide safe harbor to the virus, and also largely due to the ineffectual generation of “competing” “keys” injected in a person which did not and could not outcompete the S proteins for the binding to the ACE2 receptor or indeed the cell walls themselves.

This is exceptional knowledge— and someone should bombard the fakir Fauci on the utter falsehood of mRNA “vaccines”. Robert Malone, MD the inventor has sounded off on this and media largely ignored him. Not anymore. Thanks again!

I’m no microbiology or virology geek, but the research does appear sound.

It will be interesting to see further independent research into the virus.
