California police made at least nine arrests last week in connection with a spate of brazen daylight “flash mob” burglaries that has left retailers reeling and shoppers shaken.
Six alleged thieves were arrested in connection with a robbery at an East Lost Angeles Nike store after police pulled over an SUV last week and found thousands of dollars worth of stolen sneakers, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The arrests came Wednesday after three people were caught on camera entering the store and walking out with whatever they could carry on Aug. 13. Several of the suspects was seen loading their hauls into large trash bags.
The suspects’ identities were not revealed by authorities in connection with that heist.
Two suspects in another flash mob were picked up by bike cops patrolling the frequently targeted Americana at Brand mall in Glendale that same day.

Yes. “Arrested” is one thing.
Administering justice is an entirely different thing. And, these days, they are separate and independent events.
(The suspects’ identities were not revealed by authorities in connection with that heist.)
This is my shocked face

I wonder if stores could get automatic locked doors so if one goes the doors automatically lock and nobody else can leave with the theft goods. Yes a fire hazard but only locked until everyone drops the items.
Driven to desperation to feed their families bread, they chose instead to feed them running shoes.
Nikes...the better to run from the trashed Target or Nordstrom stores. So, yes, running shoes are definitely needed by the poor and downtrodden, the underserved, the victims of a racist society.
Let me guess Obama’s sons.
I'm afraid the crooks would grab hostages or threaten to set fires.
I think the stores should hire a couple Hell's Angels types to man the doors.
This will not end until the news story has this phrase:
“...several thieves died in a hail of gunfire.” or the like.
Looters (rightly) assume they will:
Not be identified;
and if identified, will not be arrested;
and even if arrested, will not serve jail time.
Oh crap. Hadn’t thought of that. The hell’s angels idea is awesome.
Seems most of not all, by the video I saw
Glendale is different than the rest of Los Angeles county. Hopefully these punks get the “book” thrown at them.
They arrested the one person who stole work boots.
That's a bad precedent - I need these because I am going to go get a job. He should be strung up. Work? What was he thinking.
Unless you are MAGA can they do that to you?
the term underserved, used frequently by libs, is amusingly ironic to me. After decades of a lib dem stranglehold on cities like LA, you’d think there would be no people or communities who are underserved. The joke is that libs give away their neglect whenever they use the term.
‘
PS: I’m not calling you lib or dem; it’s just that the term reminded me.
$20 trillion to $30 trillion in transfer payments (EBT, Medicaid, welfare, free housing, you name it) and we STILL have “underserved” people?
It’s a ridiculous joke, but people seem to buy into the pathetic politicians’ lies of “the underserved.”
