Yes - it seems to mean a grass fire had enough fuel to burn at a heat sufficient to melt metal and glass and did so long enough to melt it all down to puddles.

“ The video, which was originally posted to TikTok, initially shows a short clip of what appears to be molten metal (identified as aluminium in the voiceover) spilling out from a burnt-out car in Maui.

It then cuts to a speaker, who claims that the aluminium in the wheels “needs a minimum of 660 Celsius for it to melt” and that there is “not a fire that could create that kind of heat”.

This is not true. The average temperature of a forest fire specifically is around 800°C with extremes of up to 1,200°C—far higher than the melting point of pure aluminium (approximately 660°C).

Furthermore, the metal part of the wheel is often made of aluminium alloy, meaning the aluminium is mixed with other metals (though they can also be made of steel or pure aluminium). This can reduce the melting point, though the melting point of steel is much higher than aluminium.”

This is stupid. The grass fire started the car fire, but the car fire burned the car down at car fire temps. Grass fire temps having nothing to do with it because the fuel souce changed from grass to car materials.

Hey Ransom!

Some thoughts on this. A grass fire burning underneath a car has enough heat to ignite the combustible components of the car. ( The Gas tank and rubber tires.) So the fire is not just the grass. The car had enough gasoline, oil, rubber, and plastic that along with the grass caused the damage including melting of the glass.

Picture of a Subaru that on a non combustable surface burning merrily along the side of the road in Tigard OR.

Caption on photo: "Its what makes a Subaru a Subaru!"

People can go to the link and see pictures of burning cars which are probably mostly engine problems.

Would have posted some of these but you need to pay for them.

Doesn’t take nearly as much as folks think from external sources to turn a vehicle to a burned out husk. Much of your car is flammable, it doesn’t need to be engulfed in flames to catch.. all it needs is a little bit of fire in the right place for a brief period of time and you vehicle is a bonfire..

Conspiracy theory nonsense is what this is
