Biden’s niece talked with Hunter while she was serving as Treasury official during Obama admin about potential China investment

President Biden’s niece - while working at the Obama administration’s Treasury Department - shared tips with first son Hunter Biden about China’s largest government wealth fund, which he later sought as a potential investment opportunity, according to emails on his abandoned laptop.

Casey Owens, the daughter of first sister Valerie Biden Owens, notified her cousin and his business partners at now-defunct Rosemont Seneca Advisors about an investment conference held by China Investment Corporation (CIC) while working as a special assistant for the department’s US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, an April 12, 2010, email shows.

“FYI on recent CIC investment conference at a resort in Sanya, on Hainan Island, over the weekend of March 27-28,” Owens wrote to Hunter and his partner Eric Schwerin in the missive from her official Treasury email account, along with text from an article by AsianInvestor.com.

The conference was billed as a “coming out” party for the sovereign wealth fund, which held hundreds of billions of dollars, after a successful return on its international investments the previous year, according to the piece.

Hunter Biden had met and posed for pictures with CIC General Manager and Chief Investment Officer Gao Xiqing a few days earlier, according to a 2020 report on his overseas ventures compiled by Senate Republicans.

As Rosemont Seneca’s chairman, Hunter had “visited Chinese financial institutions and fund companies from April 7th to 9th,” according to an April 12, 2010, press release from the Boston investment advisory firm Thornton Group, “aiming to further deepen mutual understanding and explore the possibility of commercial cooperation and opportunity.”

Hunter Biden’s firm was courting state-run China Investment Corporation for potential investments. joe Biden’s niece emailed Hunter and the president of his company information about China Investment Corporation (CIC), China’s largest sovereign wealth fund. She was a family hire-—in the U.S. Treasury Dept during the Obama-Biden admin.

Casey Owens was serving as a special assistant for the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue at the Treasury Department when she discussed the CIC, which is state-owned and manages part of the Chinese government’s foreign exchange reserves, with Hunter and his longtime business partner, Eric Schwerin.

At the time, Hunter’s now-defunct Rosemont Seneca Advisors, where Schwerin served as president, was courting the CIC for potential investments.

On April 12, 2010, Owens emailed Hunter and Schwerin a schedule from a CIC investment conference that took place a couple of weeks earlier.

“FYI on recent CIC investment conference at a resort in Sanya, on Hainan Island, over the weekend of March 27-28,” Owens colluded.

A Thornton Group press release dated that same day – April 12, 2010 – said the company’s chairman, James Bulger, and Hunter visited Beijing just three days earlier and met with CIC Chief Investment Officer Gao Xiqing, among others, according to the Republican Senate report released in September 2020.

A feature article about Owens published months later by the Tower Hill Bulletin said she and her team had traveled to Beijing in May 2010 with a U.S. delegation led by Obama Treasury Secy Timothy Geithner.

A photo of Owens in the article showed her receiving a “small jade vase as a birthday gift” from China’s then-vice minister of finance, Zhu Guangyao. According to the Ministry of Finance website, its primary function is to implement the decisions and policies of the Chinese Communist Party in the area of public finance.

The Bulletin article said Owens’ team and Zhu “worked very closely during the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.”

Weeks after returning from Beijing, Owens emailed Schwerin a Bloomberg News article about CIC, titled, “China’s CIC May Post Record Year for 2009 as Markets Recover,” which Schwerin then forwarded to Hunter on July 23, 2010.

Then on Aug. 4, 2010, Schwerin introduced Owens to Meridian Investments Vice Chairman Jack Casey via email after Schwerin said he had a conversation with him earlier that day about “GSEs and China.”

“Jack,” Schwerin wrote. “Good seeing you at lunch today. Per our conversation regarding GSEs and China, I wanted to put you in touch with Hunter’s cousin, Casey Owens, who is at the Treasury Department and works on the Strategic Economic Dialogue. I have cc:ed Casey on this email. Feel free to reach out to her directly, she’s expecting to hear from you.”

“Jack, Happy to speak at your convenience,” Owens responded the next morning. “Best, Casey.” Schwerin later forwarded the email thread to Hunter.

A person familiar with Rosemont Seneca’s interest in CIC told Fox News Digital that Owens was most likely giving the company intel to increase their likelihood of getting CIC to invest in its fund clients. However, the person said they are not aware of the company making any deals with CIC.

Fox News Digital previously reported that in early 2011, Hunter and his partners at Rosemont Seneca had discussed making contacts to expand their energy investments in various state-owned investment funds, including in China, Ireland, Oman and Qatar.

On March 8, 2011, Schwerin sent Hunter and Rosemont Seneca co-founder Devon Archer an email containing the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute’s (SWFI) current list of the top sovereign wealth funds, which are state-owned, and their rankings at the time.

“Let’s discuss today what else we can be doing to connect with these groups,” Archer responded, adding that Rosemont Seneca was “already working” with several funds on the list, including two in China.

Archer’s March 2011 email to Hunter and Schwerin added he was scheduling a meeting for that April with the CIC.

“CIC- scheduling meeting for April 21st,” Archer wrote.

The SWFI list said CIC had over $332 billion in assets at the time of Archer’s email.

The New York Post previously reported that Hunter and Archer traveled to China and met with the CIC in April 2011.

On May 10, 2011, just before she left the Treasury, Owens emailed an account with the nickname “Uncle Joe” at auks@att.blackberry.net, and she talked about the vice president’s remarks a day earlier during the opening session of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

“Uncle Joe,” Owens wrote. “Just got home from work and couldn’t wait to send you an email. Today was truly a memorable day for me. I keep thinking about Mommom. Can you imagine her seeing us huddled up back stage together? She would have loved it. It chokes me up. I have so much to learn! Sitting back there with you was very, very humbling. I was just blown away. You ALWAYS make time to talk to me. Always. But today was really incredible. I still can’t believe you took the time to discuss the issues with me.”

“And your remarks,” she continued. “That was really something else, Uncle Joe. What a way to exit the Treasury. I’m almost embarrassed by how deeply today has impacted me. I’m simply happy to be close to you, and I just wanted to say thank you for including me. Love Casey.”

The “auks” account later forwarded Owens’ email to Hunter, Beau Biden and Valerie Biden Owens, Owens’ mother.

According to Marco Polo, the “auks” account is another pseudonym used by the then–vice president and appears in multiple email exchanges on Hunter’s laptop. “Auks” is the mascot of Archmere Academy, where Biden and his son attended high school.

Owens, who now goes by Castello, left the Treasury in July 2011 and is currently an executive at Starbucks, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Owens, Casey, Schwerin, the Treasury, the White House and Hunter’s lawyer did not respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.

From 2015 until present, several federal agencies were alerted to suspicious activity and potential criminal activities by Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son. Each time, the allegations did not result in any consequences for the first son.

The pattern – over eight years and three separate presidential administrations – has some in Congress now seeing a protection racket.

“Every time some agency — whether it be the IRS, whether it be the FBI — whomever started to investigate. I don’t know if it’s for fear of embarrassing Joe Biden or for fear that it would eventually lead to Joe Biden. But for whatever reason, some deep state actor steps in and says, ‘Stand down, call it off,’” House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer told Just the News last week.

“Well, there’s two things we’re investigating; the Biden crime, and the Biden crime cover-up. And the cover-up continues to grow and expand,” he added during an interview with the Just the News, No Noise television show. “..This cover-up has been going on for a long time.”

Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon reports on the unusual number of Bidens living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

No president in decades has had as many adult relatives taking up residence in the White House than Joe Biden, who has reportedly turned the official residence into a free housing option for his extended family.

In addition to his son Hunter Biden, who is rumored to be living at the residence to avoid getting served with legal papers in his messy child custody battle, the president’s granddaughter Naomi and her then-fiance Peter Neal also lived at the White House, the couple told Vogue last year.
The New York Times noted in passing in a report about their lavish White House wedding that “Ms. Biden and Mr. Neal live at the White House, according to two people familiar with their situation.”

Presidential historian Tevi Troy told the Washington Free Beacon that Biden having adult children and other relatives living at the White House is “not normal.”

He noted that former president Barack Obama’s mother-in-law stayed at the residence supposedly to help with childcare.

But Biden’s relatives appear to be living at the White House for convenience. Naomi Biden, Hunter Biden’s oldest child, told Vogue last year that she and her fiance moved into the White House because their apartment lease ran out.......

During the 2020 presidential campaign, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden assured the American people he was not involved in his family members’ multi-million-dollar global
business deals.

He assured Americans he had always remained apart from his family’s business interests while he was Vice President.
Evidence obtained by Committee on Oversight and Reform Republicans shows these assurances were false.

President Joe Biden has participated in his family’s global business ventures with America’s adversaries. He has misused his public positions to further his family’s financial interests. These actions have created the potential for President Biden to be susceptible to influence, blackmail, or extortion by a malign or foreign entity, including the Chinese Communist Party.

A review of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, as well as information from whistleblowers, reveals a decade-long pattern of influence peddling, national security risks, and
political cover-ups. Biden family members used their connections with Joe Biden to enrich
themselves through the expectation of access to Joe Biden and promises about what a future Biden Administration might do for them.

There are numerous unanswered questions raised by
these suspicious activities that warrant further investigation. During the final weeks of the 2020 presidential election campaign, the media’s response
to Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop—full of documents detailing suspicious business deals worth millions of dollars—was not to report this information, but to hide it.

Some outlets were frank about their disdain for the story. An official NPR Twitter account tweeted to its audience,
“We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories.”1 In addition, Big Tech
actively suppressed this information on social media.

Twitter blocked users from posting links to stories about the laptop’s contents; it even locked the New York Post’s account for refusing to take down the article.2 Facebook used its algorithms to limit the spread of stories about the
laptop.3 Intelligence officials—who are now television pundits—labeled the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation.4

Committee Republicans’ investigation has uncovered evidence demonstrating deliberate,repeated deception of the American people, abuse of the Executive Branch for personal gain, use
of government power to obstruct the investigation and prevent transparency, and potential violations of the United States Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause.

The President’s personal participation in his family’s global business ventures—committed through and by a
complex network of relatives and associates to enrich the Biden family—has exposed the United States to national security risks that could be leveraged by our enemies to undermine the Office of the President.

Committee Republicans are aware of the existence of additional evidence implicating the Biden family business ventures in suspicious activities but have been obstructed in our attempts to obtain that information. The Department of Treasury is in possession of at least 150
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) related to Biden family members’ financial transactions.

Despite numerous formal requests by Committee Republicans to review those SARs, and despite decades of precedent of Treasury making SARs available pursuant to congressional requests, the Biden Administration changed longstanding policy and now refuses to produce Biden family SARs or to make them available for Committee Republican investigators’ in camera review.

President Biden’s actions and his Administration’s obstruction of this investigation raise
important questions that deserve answers for the American people. The President misled the American people during his 2020 campaign for the presidency, and he continues to be untruthful every time he repeats or fails to repudiate the false narrative that he had no knowledge or
discussions with his family about their business dealings.

To date, Committee Republicans have sent over a hundred document requests to numerous entities, including the White House and Department of Treasury, but have not received a single document from the Administration.
Despite attempts by the Biden Administration to obstruct the investigation, Committee Republicans will continue to pursue these matters to provide transparency to the American
people and to inform potential legislation or other congressional actions needed to remedy any
national security threat and to prevent corruption, fraud, waste, and abuse by government
officials, including President Biden.

Hunter Biden buddy made many trips to Obama WH, VP home in Naval Observatory

First son Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner — who also managed his family’s financial affairs — made more visits to both the Obama White House and then-Vice President Biden’s official residence than previously known.

Eric Schwerin dropped in at the executive mansion and the Naval Observatory in Washington on at least 36 occasions in total between 2009 and 2016, according to an analysis published Monday by Fox News.

The Post initially reported in April 2022 that Schwerin visited the White House and vice president’s residence at least 19 times while Joe Biden was Barack Obama’s second-in-command.

Eight additional visits from 2016 subsequently were discovered in visitor logs by Fox News.

Schwerin had a friendly relationship with the scandal-plagued first son for years.

He served as the managing director of the now-defunct investment firm Rosemont Seneca Advisors, which Hunter Biden helped co-found — though the pair may have met while working in the Commerce Department during the Clinton administration.

Schwerin had also been part of Hunter’s lobbying shop, Oldaker, Biden & Belair, where he worked from 2002 to 2008, disclosure forms show.

Prior to Obama’s election, the-then senator from Illinois pursued more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for Hunter’s clients, the Washington Post reported in August 2008, weeks after Obama tapped Joe Biden as his running mate.

During Obama’s second term, the 44th president tapped Schwerin to serve on the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad in 2015, before reappointing him in the final days before he left office in 2017.

Schwerin’s visits to the Naval Observatory included one trip for a Dec. 12, 2015, holiday reception, Fox News reported.

Among the other attendees were Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and Devon Archer.

President Barack Obama gave Eric Schwerin a government agency in 2015.

The reception took place days after the then-vice president had returned from Ukraine, where he threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if the country’s top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, was not ousted.

That prosecutor was scrutinizing energy giant Burisma Holdings, where Hunter Biden and Archer had board seats.

In April of 2022, House Republicans asked Schwerin to divulge all communications involving President Biden and Hunter Biden since 2009, as well as a list of Schwerin’s positions in Biden family companies.

In addition to being colleagues, emails from Hunter Biden’s former laptop and testimony from the first son’s own ex-wife indicate that Schwerin was deeply involved in the family’s finances.

Emails from the abandoned hard drive show Schwerin moving money on behalf of Joe and Hunter while helping the latter handle family expenses. Schwerin received Joe Biden’s “Delaware tax refund check” while he was vice president and he and Hunter talked by phone about Joe Biden’s mortgage.

In February 2014, the then-second son advised Schwerin to describe himself as a “close confidant and counsel” to the elder Biden in a letter of recommendation Schwerin was penning on Joe Biden’s behalf.

“I would tone down the ‘he and my son’ parts,” Hunter wrote. “I think it’s better to just focus on the fact that you have been a close confidant and counsel to him and just say somewhere something like ‘as a business partner with my son at Rosemont Seneca…’”

Republicans have been unsheathing their political knives on the first son’s business machinations.

Kathleen Buhle, who divorced Hunter Biden in 2017 after 24 years of marriage, wrote in her memoir about encountering Schwerin at a cocktail party in the Dominican Republic.

“Eric had managed almost every aspect of our financial lives, so our relationship was an awkward one,” wrote Buhle, who described Schwerin as her former husband’s “business partner”. “One born out of mutual need, perhaps. But I trusted him.”

In February of this year, The Post reported that Schwerin was also involved in the transfer of Joe Biden’s Senate papers to the University of Delaware in March 2010 — a haul which may have included “sensitive” and “classified” documents.

By December 2017, Hunter had fallen out with Schwerin and attempted to cut ties with him.

HUNTER “I terminated you as an at will employee for gross negligence. Also if you continue to sit with friends of mine and relationships that are mine and defame me I will sue you for defamation of character and embezzlement and for the debt with you still have not contributed your supposed 25% share of,” Hunter wrote on Dec. 12, 2017. “ … We are no longer just done as business partners you should consider moving to somewhere in Florida I’ll never go. Naples is perfect you can live in perpetual time share with your parents and talk about what a horrible person I am.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Attempts to reach Schwerin were not immediately successful.
