Singer Maren Morris leaving country music, blames the ‘Trump years’
Singer Maren Morris announced she is leaving Country music due to the effects the “Trump years” have had on the music genre.
“After the Trump years, people’s biases were on full display,” the “Bones” singer said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Friday. “It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic.”
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter added that she resents music being used as a “toxic weapon in culture wars.”

We were in a restaurant I seldom mention or frequent but sometimes do because my wife likes it for some reason.. cracker barrel... over done attempt to be folksy which they are assuredly not... Their selection of "country" music tended to the current brand, pop country. It all sounds alike, is bent on saying words as fast as possible no matter what is being said and as loud as possible with a twang and clang that passes somewhere for musical accompaniment.
I could not wait to finish my meal and get out of the place. I swore again to never go back but know I will need to. I put it off for almost a year this last time.
