An armed Philadelphia robbery suspect picked the wrong convenience store to knock off and paid with his life for that critical mistake.
The 28-year-old criminal entered the store wearing gloves and a mask partially covering his face and went behind the counter to steal cash from the register while holding employees at bay with his firearm.
One of the employees was also armed and quickly turned the tables by pulling his handgun and opening fire, killing the robbery suspect right there inside his store.
The incident took place late in the evening last week at Happy Day Food Market & Deli in the city’s Kingsessing neighborhood, according to Fox News.
“You can clearly see that there’s money on the scene and you can clearly see that at least one of the 28-year-old’s pockets is stuffed with money,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters. “We believe that was the money that he was taking from the cash register during the robbery when he was shot by the store employee.”

The employee who shot the thief had obtained firearms training and a license after the store was robbed previously, Fox 29 reported.

I guess if the judicial system no longer punishes crime and thus offers a deterrent, the people must train to protect themselves with firearms. That’s today’s lesson.
Do we know the color of the employee who shot the victim? Do we know the color of the robber?
We need to know this before we can determine who the victims are, who the suspects are and if and what charges will be filed.
There is an entire urban hood-rat generation from 13 to 30, that needs to recognize they will make their own choice very soon.
Get a job and behave yourself, keep it up and go to prison. Keep it up and die. The last is the best outcome for society.

Looks to me like the armed robber picked the RIGHT convenience store to rob ... the only good robber is a DRT robber.
“Point of gun” seems to carry some weight in a self defense shooting. There is a reason the cop referenced that several times. Thank you, sir.

Disappointed the story didn’t include the surveillance video for the full effect.
Probably safe to assume that if someone is pointing a gun at you during the commission of an armed robbery that you "fear for your life" thus a justification of using equal force in stopping the threat. Also due to the fact that you cannot retreat if he is "forcefully detaining you" with his gun.
Sad, but true.
