“Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, Sauté it, whatever. MAKE.” ~ Joss Whedon

The Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread is a monthly gathering of people that love to create and make. From yarn (crochet, knitting), fabric (sewing, quilting), threads (embroidery, weaving), wood crafts, ceramics, artwork and anything else you create and would like to share, this is the place to do it. Sharing something you’ve created and/or made is pure joy...and we need joy in our lives!

From complete Newbies that are looking to start that first project, to experienced artists, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions or would like advice, there’s probably someone on the thread who would be able to help.

It is impossible to hijack the Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread. Knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, weaving, general crafting, art, wood working, patterns, articles on any of these topics, or even your own writing. There is no telling where it will go, and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you’d like to be added to our Ping List.

NOTE: This is a once a Month Ping List. We DO post to the thread during the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to other Create, Make and Share fans are welcomed any time.

A patchwork comforter is a good way to use up all
those odd pieces of fabric leftover from sewing projects.

This is cool! Please add me to your ping list. I enjoy making stuff and also learning about stuff other folks have made.

Last night I made eggplant parmigiana using eggplants and tomatoes from the garden. Haven’t made it in many years. I used a “traditional” recipe that involved a whole lotta time and steps and ingredients and bowls and pots and pans.

The eggplant I made was pretty good.

But the KITCHEN MESS I made — now THAT was truly something to behold! One for the record books. :-)

(Mrs. Tick made ME clean it up. The noive of that woman!)

Last month's completed project:

It's the Pullover Sweater pattern by Erika Knight, modeled on the Real Baby doll I got for modeling/sizing purposes.

This morning I cut out some tumbler blocks out of autumn fabric. Decided I needed a little seasonal decor in the house. I haven’t sewn since June when we began packing to move, so I’m glad I chose a small, quick project.

When visiting a friend of mine recently, I saw that she had a pincushion that was made to look like a cupcake. It was from fabric, not crocheted. So cute, and now I’m on the lookout for how to make one from scraps that I have laying around. Then I have to give my permission to try to make one for myself.

I make a great eggplant parmigiana also, and agree that it makes a mess. I can’t imagine trying to do this with several kids underfoot, like I imagine the old Italian mothers doing. I never made EP while my own kids were growing up, unless they were in their teens and out doing sports or school stuff. I try to clean up as I go.

I was impressed with it since My Cousin that made it is blind in 1 eye and IIRC 50% or less vision in the other eye.

WOW! Just the ‘optics’ alone in that afghan are impressive! It takes a lot of planning to get your color scheme in check. :)

Now that is right up my alley! Thanks!

My Mom and her BFF of 50 years, and also now her roommate (both are widows), are amazing seamstresses.

I think those would be great Christmas gifts for both.

I found a few You Tubes that I’ll look at this week:

Those are the two videos I looked at! I’ll see if my friend is willing to take a photo of hers. She said it had been a gift. If I can get one from her, I’ll post it here. It was VERY cute!

I think these would make great gifts for seamstresses. (My mom was a great one, too. She advises me from Heaven.) ;-)
