REPORT: Activists are upset at YouTuber Mr. Beast for building 100 wells across Africa that provided clean drinking water to its citizens
Although the wells provide clean water to half a million Africans, activists are upset with Mr. Beast because they're annoyed a white male was the one who solved the problem.
"I’ve been doing this for 15 years, but we’ve been struggling to continue the work because funding, awareness, and advocacy all take work," said founder of FACE Africa Saran Kaba Jones.
"Overnight, this person comes along, who happens to be a white male figure with a huge platform, and all of a sudden, he gets all of the attention. It’s kind of frustrating, but it’s also understanding the nature of how the world is," she said before giving him a weak 'thank you.'
Others were upset that Mr. Beast "highlighted" the failures of the Kenyan government that maintained the stereotype that Africa is "dependent on handouts… and philanthropic intervention."

Well isn’t that just so tolerant?
Bigoted savages.
Why didn’t she build those wells?
Societal Devolution happens
Let Africa sink. The magnitude of ingratitude is stunning. It’s easy to be jealous of a charismatic, popular personality, but don’t bite the hand that’s feeding you.
I know a guy that would go to Haiti every year and teach them how to build wells and then get the water into pipes to bring to various areas of the villages.
He would install one well and pipes to educate a group of locals, and then leave enough supplies for them to complete numerous other projects. I think he gave up after the third year. The supplies he had left had been sold so the group could buy stuff, and the pipes he had installed were torn up and sold too.
He then started setting up cell-phone and internet instead. He said that lasted longer. One - the people got entertainment. Two - the government had stiff penalties on tampering with it. The government used it to get its propaganda across, as well as keeping tabs on people.
Well if your country is considered to be a very corrupt country, 123 of 180 countries (2022 rankings), who wants to invest in projects knowing that a large portion of the money will not be used for the project.

.
Yup.
I sadly have to agree.
They still need “White Saviors” but resent them.
For countries, like Haiti, they need a benevolent dictator to manage them until they heal enough to improve enough to be self governing. That goes against my principles, but they are on their way to extinguishment otherwise.
They were upset that he came in and actually BUILT WELLS, instead of sending money for the NGOs and politicians to steal.
Bfl
Makes me wonder how much cost for 100 wells.
Compare the 100 well cost with what has been spent on similar projects in these areas.
Im guessing it cost $100,000 to build those wells, when all is said and done.
Mr. Beast tends to operate in the tens of thousands of dollars or more when he does his projects.
You have to have evolved to be able to devolve.
Africa may sink, but it will drag the West down with it. Migrants are currently flooding Europe and are heading here too.
Pride.
Jealousy
Lust for power.
No humanitarianism in this woman at all.
South Africa is sadly turning into a complete sh*thole... Formerly one of the most sensible and civilized countries on that continent, they are now descending into anarchy.
Who is the “bigoted savage?” The only person who made the dumb comment is the charity figure- who doesn’t sound at all like one of the locals. (And some posters here.)
Did you not watch the linked video?
Doesn’t appear anyone on this thread did.
