Harrowing images released by a Florida teacher show the brutal facial injuries that she suffered at the hands of 270 pound teenage student at the school where she worked as an aide.
Joan Naydich was violently attacked by Brendan Depa, then 17 years old, at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, 60 miles south of Jacksonville, in February after she told him to stop playing on his Nintendo Switch.
The autistic 6-foot 6-inch teen, now 18, was seen punching and kicking the educator in the back and head until she lay on the ground unconscious. He pleaded no contest as an adult for first-degree aggravated battery.
As he faces sentencing on January 31, Naydich has called on the judge to give him the maximum 30 years in prison.
Her injuries included five broken ribs, concussion and a loss of hearing. The new pictures show gashes on the aide's cheek, bruising around the eyes, one blood shot eye, a dent in her nose and a tear at the back of her ear.
In a new interview with Fox Orlando, Naydich said the worst injuries are internal and that the attack deeply affected her cognitive functions. 'Unfortunately, a lot of my injuries that are not visible I'm going to have for the rest of my life,' she said.
Naydich was placed on an unpaid leave of absence shortly after returning to work in August under a different title and has been surviving on charity from the community.
Her revelation comes weeks ahead of a court hearing where Depa is set to be sentenced and Naydich is calling on the former student to be locked up for the maximum of 30 years.

I could have posted your comments in their entirety and not changed a single word.
I’ve ranted for years that questions and comments concerning “motive” should never be permitted at any trial with one exception, and that is if the motive for assault or killing someone was self-defense or the defense of another innocent person. Otherwise consideration of motive is simply a tactic used to mitigate a defendant’s guilt.
I’m also opposed to plea bargaining, parole, and country club prisons.
I thought we were talking about the big dude that beat up a teacher’s aide ...

It just doesn’t make sense to me the (leftist) argument you have to be “smart enough” to be punished.
Anyone that has even a passing knowledge of animals knows some are just born meaner, more prone to violence than others. I had a bitch that had a few litters of puppies and it amazed me how both times one pup was just meaner than the others…literally from the day it could walk. People know some Pit Bulls etc have to be put down as they are vicious.
The Naydich family need to hire someone to take care of this

I read stuff like this and can’t help but wonder if this is not demon possession.
Universal education was such an amazing sounding promise. A world where all people would be intelligent as possible, productive and law abiding.
Luke other liberal social movements such as Dem Johnson’s Great Society it looked a lot better on paper than it performed..
Yet these entitlement programs are killing us now. The truth is ALL children not only don’t benefit from public education some drag other children down. This giant, violent, hulking Cretin is exactly the sort.
Some kids just need to learn how to do menial tasks and start work.
And the big dude is a kid who is autistic and has uncontrollable rage issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is also self-injurious.
I have seen some of her meltdowns and you wouldn’t get an argument from me on that one. The look she gets in her eyes is just flat terrifying and demonic.
He can get his GED while he’s in prison
It’s sad that he has autism, but he needs to be prevented from causing this type of life-altering harm to others. The poor woman’s life is ruined, and her own school district has little sympathy for her and her injuries if they have her on leave without pay!
