VP Kamala Harris' 2019 Jussie Smollett defense remains after actor's hate crime hoax conviction, failed appeal

Vice President Kamala Harris' 2019 post calling Jussie Smollett a victim of attempted "modern day lynching" is still online despite the actor losing his conviction appeal Friday and facing the likelihood of going back to prison.

An Illinois appeals court on Friday upheld Smollett's previous conviction on five of the six charges of disorderly conduct in 2021. Smollett had claimed he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack by two men who were wearing ski masks in January 2019.

While police searched for the suspects, an investigation into Smollett led to charges that he planned the whole attack and lied to police about it.

He was sentenced to 150 days in jail, 30 months felony probation, as well as $120,106 restitution to the City of Chicago and a fine of $25,000.

Harris, who was a senator when the incident happened, wrote on X, then called Twitter, that Smollett is "one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery."

"This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate," Harris wrote.

Following Friday's decision, Holly Baird, a representative for Smollett, told Fox News Digital that the case would be appealed to the Supreme Court.

"We wish to highlight that the decision was divided, with Justice Lyle offering a detailed analysis in favor of Smollett," Baird said. "We are preparing to escalate this matter to the Supreme Court, armed with a substantial body of evidence."

with Justice Democrat Party Stooge Lyle offering a detailed analysis in favor of Smollett

Paging John Roberts...

Freddrenna Margaret Lyle serves as Judge Stooge of the First Municipal District of State of Illinois' Circuit Court of Cook County. Appointed on December 16, 2011 by all seven Illinois Supreme Court Justices. She served as alderman of the 6th Ward of the City of Chicago for 13 years.

Lyle has lived in the Park Manor, Chicago neighborhood for more than 45 years. She attended Park Manor Elementary School and South Shore High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her law degree from John Marshall Law School. Before her appointment, Lyle was an attorney in private practice.

Lyle was President of the Cook County Bar Association, board member of the National Bar Association, member of the Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, and co-chair of the Lawyer’s Committee for Harold Washington. She also served on Governor Blagojevich’s transition team. She is currently a member of Park Manor Neighbors, Chatham Avalon Park Community Council, NAACP, and Rainbow/PUSH. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Cook County Democratic Party and Chairman of the Black Elected Officials of Illinois.

Lyle was appointed alderman by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley on February 8, 1998 to fill the unexpired term of John O. Steele. She was reelected for a full term in 1999, 2003 and 2007 and also elected as the Democratic committeeman in 2006. Lyle served on five committees: Budget; Finance; Parks and Recreation; License and Consumer Protection; Traffic and Public Safety; and Rules and Ethics.

Stoogeship

After her defeat, she served as a legal advisor to the Council's Black Caucus regarding the redistricting process for Chicago's 50 wards. Later that year, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed Lyle to a vacancy on the Circuit Court of Cook County created by retirement of Judge Michael Stuttley.

“Modern day lynching” is what was done to Derek Chauvin.

Yes.

He and Harris sponsored the “anti-lynching” legislation.

Lo and behold a lynching of an Obama-Harris commie associate, Smollett, took place.

The propagandists hoped with enough fake hate crime narrative kindling that will lead to a real fire of racial strife. It may still happen, or hopefully more and more will see them as the boy who cried wolf too many times.

God willing we will get rid of all the professional jar shakers.

A proper investigation of the crime here would have looked into that. It was clearly staged for her benefit, and she was probably in on it. She had no legislative accomplishments other than a symbolic anti-lynching law.

They tried to pass it during Pres. Trump’s term and couldn’t.
it was Pres. Biden who signed it.

She was sponsoring an antilynching law in the senate and this hoax was coordinated with her to try to gain attention for the law. unneeded since the last actual racial lynching was in the 1950s.
