Massie questions whether it’s legal for AIPAC to operate in the same way other powerful lobbies do

Rep. Thomas Massie:

“I actually won't accept the premise that AIPAC has the right to interfere in an American election on behalf of a foreign country—And if they do, we have guidelines and guardrails for that, which they seem to be exempt from.”

Very interesting Massie thinks they should not be allowed to interfere.

They're running Ads against him by the way and anyone who questions them.

Massie is very brave IMO. Not many will go against this lobby.

A very valid question. We are not Israel.

He's 100% right about this.

And I predicted years ago that AIPAC and their political minions here in the U.S. will suddenly get all hot and bothered about foreign influence in the U.S. government when Muslims start making serious inroads here.

I ask the same question about the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

I always have been for Israel a big Israel that includes Judea and Samaria.

The Israel Lobby of AIPAC is about money and power and compromises that might sell out Jews who live in “The West Bank” some day.

Its also the crowd that sadly called those of us who opposed COVID lockdowns and masks and vaccines and so on “Anti-Semites” during COVID.

His problem with Trump was all the (unconservative) spending

Trump also tried to kick him out of the GOP

It’s no surprise he doesn’t have much of a relationship with him

The great irony of this is that Israel was exposed as an unapologetic Nazi country during COVID.

Trump recognized Massie as little more than a sanctimonious, self-aggrandizing pain in the ass who has made a career out of casting “principled” votes when he knows he’s on the losing end of a House bill that passes with 420+ votes.

I know you support Israel but didn’t know how you felt about AIPAC and their influence

They’re running 100k’s worth of ads against Massie for crossing them.

That’s a lot in a rural KY district.

They want to take out anyone who questions them. Sad and unbecoming.

This thread is on AIPAC and Massie

We have discussed these votes. He is on the Rules committee now so I guess he will vote with the leadership from time to time and be less of a lone voice

I’m not defending that vote but I understand why

If you want to get anywhere in the House you have to do these things.

That’s crazy.

Trump was wrong to call out Massie who wanted a recorded vote when Pelosi tried to ram through COVID spending in an empty chamber if I recall

Trump’s big spending was Massie’s problem. In hindsight he was right on everything.

I wonder if Trump 2.0 will seek to spend trillions upon trillions? I think reality bites sooner or later and the cloth will have to be cut accordingly

That is my only criticism of Trump too and his poor hires...

House rules at the time allowed the House to approve a bill without a floor vote if it passed unanimously.

Massie was the only one to oppose it ... which goes back to my point about him being a sanctimonious loser.

This was Pelosi’s plan to ram it through.

2 trillion worth of spending

He opposed it all and it nearly cost him his seat

He’s a good conservative who even stood up to a sitting president of his own party
