Miracle on 34th Street - Deaf Girl
YouTube ^ | March 9, 2012 | Belladonna68

What makes this clip particularly moving is that the little girl really was deaf. And she didn’t know that Sir Richard Attenborough (Santa) had learned to sign, just for this scene.

So her joyful reaction here is real.

This clip is from the 1994 remake of the 1947 classic. In the earlier film, the little girl was Dutch and Santa surprised her by speaking Dutch.

The 1947 version is my favorite Christmas movie.

Here is a good write-up of the 1947 version.

I prefer the 1947 version. There are five versions of the movie. I also like the 1955 version.

We love the original and watch it on Thanksgiving...

This is the movie I remember growing up and I still love it! Mara Wilson was so adorable in this!

Hollywood is incapable of making movies like this anymore. They would be compelled to throw some pervy content in.
