What makes this clip particularly moving is that the little girl really was deaf. And she didn’t know that Sir Richard Attenborough (Santa) had learned to sign, just for this scene.
So her joyful reaction here is real.

The 1947 version is my favorite Christmas movie.
I always have to watch the original at Christmas.
The screen kinda got blurred up for me…
I prefer the 1947 version. There are five versions of the movie. I also like the 1955 version.

Hollywood is incapable of making movies like this anymore. They would be compelled to throw some pervy content in.
