The headline is the non-pretending reality. Now that Joe Biden has designated EPA mandates for U.S. automobiles that include having at least 50% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030 {LINK}, three major Chinese EV manufacturers are reportedly building manufacturing facilities in Mexico.

I always get a warms and fuzzy when I get another example of this administration being bought and paid for……/sarc

I digress….

Peter Schweizer wrote that any company building anything in China, has to give the CCP access to their R&D. So Tesla has given China the ability to make Chinese-Teslas. And now those cheap POSs will be made in Mexico, so they won’t have the added shipping costs and they’ll cheap labor.

It’s interesting that there is more news about domestic manufacturers shutting down plans for EV building. Maybe they know what’s coming.

What I find interesting is, if Pres Trump does pull it off, all of these mandates and incentives go the way of the DoDo.

On a side note, it’s a great thing that Kemp is giving away over $1billion to an EV company.

EVs are nothing more than a niche market item.

Once that niche is filled, there is no more ‘demand’ and you cannot create a demand where there is no reason to have one.

It will take time, but eventually the enviro-nuts will ‘discover’ that the EV is actually more destructive to their precious god Mutha Erf, than those evil ICE vehicles ever were.................

The US probably needs to switch to a blocked currency system like India has.

The Russians selling oil to India have been told that they can only get paid in Indian products and services.

Back when in 2016 I posted that the motor vehicle business should be based on barter.

Electric motors made in the USA could be bartered for parts made in China.

The FORCED EV mandates cannot stand. Already these are piling up on dealers’ lots, unsold and unlikely to be sold even at a deep discount. A battery-powered EV is a niche vehicle, only applicable on a very narrow basis, as a commuter vehicle of less than maybe 30 miles round trip daily, and totally unsuited to long distance travel, or use in extreme weather conditions.

Hybrid vehicles, with an on-board IC engine to drive an on-board generator, have far greater range capability, and are NOT reliant on a plug-in to the electric grid, which is already painfully short on capacity, almost entirely because of the mandated “green energy” wind and solar generation sourcing.

IF the use of nuclear energy for electric power generation is once again adopted, then a sustainable electric power supply would become widely available, and the highly inefficient, unreliable, and costly wind and solar power schemes may be abandoned altogether. As they should be.

I think the we’re getting to the filling of that niche faster than anyone may have thought.

Lots of stories about

Aug 16th …. Surplus EVs on lots is good for buyers https://www.businessinsider.com/auto-dealerships-inventory-electric-vehicles-gas-cars-key-problems-2023-6?op=1

Aug 23rd …. No one is buying them. https://www.businessinsider.com/dealers-turning-away-evs-velectric-cars-demand-cools-inventory-2023-8?op=1

What’s that old saying ….. you can’t make this sh*t up

This guy has some interesting insight on them.

It will be fire/safety regulations and insurance costs that destroy EV’s. It’s a miracle they’ve persisted this long. A tribute to misguided government policy.

Already losing their jobs. GM is laying off a bunch of folks.

But the UAW is emboldened by their recent “victory”. Trying to organize in non-union states.

I have to wonder how much taxpayer money went into the building of some of these plants and what it would cost the companies to close up shop and move to Mexico if the UAW gets its way.

I’d love some legit research and auditing on this insurance policies and companies.

Are the EV owners paying what they’re supposed to?

Or, are the insurance companies hiding the liabilities and raising everyone’s rates to cover the real costs associated with EV ownership?

Another 3-letter agency that radically needs their budget chopped, there are so many. However would need a new political party to do so.

This is a very bad development. China knows if the rats lose in 24 the EV mandate is over. They will do everything they can to make sure the rat wins. We know they did a lot last time but this insures it will be even worse.
