Today, the only working platform on the key principles of peace in Ukraine is the Peace Formula proposed by our state. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the end-of-year press conference in Kyiv.
The Head of State reminded that the fourth meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors on the implementation of the Peace Formula would be held in Switzerland in January within the Davos Forum.
“We will work towards ensuring that this meeting gathers representatives from all continents, including the Global South. This meeting will address the last five points of the Peace Formula. The first five points were addressed by advisors at the previous meeting at the end of October in Malta,” he explained.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that after this meeting of advisors, work would be done to organize the first founding summit at the level of state leaders. He believes it is necessary to do everything possible to ensure this summit takes place despite all the challenges existing in the world. This will mean that the world continues to pay attention to Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and to the Peace Formula. According to the President, his recent foreign visits to Latin America, the USA, and Europe have also helped keep the focus on the war in Ukraine.
The Head of State explained that at the first Global Peace Summit, the leaders will work out an agreement between the countries on the fundamental provisions that will be embodied in the relevant document. After this document is agreed upon by all states, it can then be presented to representatives of the Russian Federation.
“If it is ready to accept that document, it will indicate that the issue of negotiations is relevant. As of today, it is not relevant. I don’t see a request from Russia, I don’t see it in their actions, I see only arrogance in their rhetoric. And murder,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy summarized.

Day 664 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine continues.
During the day of December 19, there were 69 combat engagements. The enemy launched 1 missile and 10 air strikes, 40x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.
The operational situation in the east and the south of Ukraine remains difficult.
VOLUN and POLISSYA AXIS: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.
SIVERSHCHYNA and SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA AXIS: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi (Chernihiv oblast), Seredyna-Buda, Esman, Ulanove, Volfyne, Stepok (Sumy oblast), Huryiv Kozachok, Veterynarne, Starytsya, Vovchansk, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).
KUPYANSK AXIS: the Ukrainian defenders repelled all of the occupiers’ attacks in the vicinities of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast). In that area, the enemy used air support in unsuccessful attempts to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).
LYMAN AXIS: the Ukrainian soldiers repelled 4 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Serebryanske forestry (Luhansk oblast) and east of Terny (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).
BAKHMUT AXIS: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks of the adversary near Bohdanivka, Klishchiyivka, and Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriyivka, and New York (Donetsk oblast).
AVDIYIVKA AXIS: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiyivka, and 7 more attacks in the vicinities of Pervomaiske and Nevelke (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Avdiyivka, Sjeverne, Karlivka, Netailove, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).
MARYINKA AXIS: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary launched 11 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Heorhiyivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviyivka, Kostyantynivka, and Antonivka were under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.
SHAKHTARSKE AXIS: the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The adversary fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske, and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast).
ZAPORIZHZHIA AXIS: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 13 adversary attacks west of Novopokrovka and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). In that area, the adversary used air support in attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. Around 20 settlements, including Levadne, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Orikhiv, Novoandriyivka, and Kamyanske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
KHERSON AXIS: the adversary fired artillery at Kherson, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka (Kherson oblast), and Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast).
The enemy did not abandon its intention to drive our units from the left bank of the Dnipro, made 8 attempts to assault. The attacks were repelled and the enemy retreated having suffered losses. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line, continuing to retain their positions and firing for effect on the enemy. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand the bridgehead.
During the day of December 19, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 6 concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment of the adversary.
The Ukrainian missile troops hit 2 concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment, 1 command post, 3 artillery systems, and 4 ammunition depots of the russian invaders.

Today, there is a lot of news from Avdiivka.
So far, Avdiivka remains the main Russian direction and the place with the highest number of engagements per day. Despite the stalled progress, in the eyes of the Russian commanders, the northern flank remains the most prospective one, even though the notorious chemical plant area has truly become the worst nightmare of the Russian soldiers.
Over the last several days, the Russian attacks in this region became disjointed. Ukrainian fighters from the 47th Mechanized Brigade reported that the attacks are conducted without the help of tanks or armored vehicles, that the assault units became smaller, and the attacks themselves are less coordinated – it seems like each unit is trying to achieve a different goal.
Recently released combat footage shows one of such opportunistic attacks. Russians are sending small groups of infantry to sneak into empty ditches, trenches, or houses to get a foothold in Stepove. Ukrainian fighters from the Khorne Group discovered that it was actually a reinforcement for the two soldiers who had already sneaked into the trench. Unfortunately for Russians, the Khorne Group deployed the so-called Baba Yaga octocopters and blew up the shelter with a heavy mine, killing 6 troops. Getting closer to the Russian-controlled tree line in front of Stepove, thermal cameras detected two more trenches with Russian soldiers. The first one had 5 soldiers, all of whom we killed, while the second one had 6 soldiers, 3 of whom were killed and 3 were wounded. Fighters from the 47th Mechanized Brigade continued the hunt during the day with regular kamikaze drones and found two Russians smoking in a ditch. Russians tried to shoot it down, but the drone hit the target. Many other videos are too graphic for this platform.
In general, the Stepove area has become more stable. Some analysts attribute this reduction in intensity to the temporary shortages of forces, while others attribute it to the recent series of strikes on Donetsk and logistical centers in this region. Given that we saw 2 days ago how Russians delivered between 150 and 300 soldiers to Krasnohorivka, the shortages of troops are likely not the main reason, and the HIMARS and Storm Shadow strikes successfully undermined the Russian offensive capabilities, at least in the short term.
Ukrainian fighters from the 110th Mechanized Brigade recently flew the drone above this 100-meter-long position to showcase the Russian losses. The footage shows an enormous number of Russian troops who were killed, trying to maintain a foothold in hopes that the reinforcements come to help expand it. In total, the footage shows 33 troops, and it is unknown how many had been collected when Russians temporarily advanced along the tree line and could clean their positions.
Overall, Ukrainian fighters managed to stabilize the front line, and each unit has developed its own effective tactic for holding defense in a sustainable way. For example, the fighters from the 110th Mechanized Brigade identified a bottleneck that Russians need to pass to develop their offensive and turned it into a kill zone. The fighters from the 47th Mechanized Brigade are leveraging the area richer in defensive positions to exhaust Russian forces, and then conduct counterattacks. And the fighters that are defending the chemical plant set up multiple machine gun positions in the huge buildings and control every inch of the Russian positions in the tree lines in front of the plant.

Another batch of military aid from Lithuania arrived in Ukraine on November 22. The partner country handed over vital field equipment and dry rations for the military.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.
“We continue to do everything we can to facilitate Ukraine’s difficult struggle against the brutality of the aggressor. A variety of field equipment is critically important in the cold season. Every package of our aid is a step towards victory,” said the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania, Arvydas Anusauskas.
It is noted that last week Lithuania also sent several million cartridges and ammunition for short-range portable anti-tank mortars to Ukraine.

The Russian government continues to forcefully mobilize Ukrainians in its occupied territories of Ukraine into its army.

Human rights defenders emphasized that this practice “is a war crime.”
“Russian authorities are openly and illegally forcing men in the occupied territories of Ukraine to fight against their own country,” said Hugh Williamson, Europe and Central Asia director of Human Rights Watch.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the updated resolution “Situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.”
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is noted that this year’s document covers the human rights situation in all the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, which will ensure increased attention of the UN and the international community to all crimes and gross violations committed by the Russian occupation authorities against the local population in these territories.
“The General Assembly once again confirmed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and the non-recognition of any changes in the status of Ukrainian territories, including the results of any so-called “elections”.
We welcome the fact that the status of the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as integral parts of the sovereign territory of Ukraine, remains a principled position of the General Assembly,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that in this regard, the UN General Assembly requires the Russian Federation to immediately stop aggression against Ukraine and withdraw all its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
The resolution condemns Russia’s continued disregard for international human rights and international humanitarian law, the illegal detention of Ukrainian civilians, the use of torture and torture, and discrimination against residents of temporarily occupied territories.
The General Assembly calls on the Russian Federation to stop the deportation of Ukrainian children, any change in the status of these children, and to provide comprehensive information to relevant UN agencies and international organizations, including a list of all deported Ukrainian children, including those whose status has been changed, adopted or placed in the care of foster parents, and to take all necessary measures for the safe return of these children to the Motherland. In this context, the issuance of the warrant of the International Criminal Court for the arrest of Putin and Lvova-Belova is mentioned.
The resolution contains a reference to the decision of the UN Secretary-General regarding the inclusion of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and armed formations affiliated with them in the temporarily occupied territories to the so-called “list of shame” in the report “Children and Armed Conflict” for the killing of children and attacks on schools and hospitals.
The General Assembly emphasizes that the Russian Federation, as the occupying power, bears full responsibility for the catastrophic consequences for the economy, agricultural activity and ecology of the region caused by the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP in the territory occupied by it, and condemns the failure of the Russian Federation to grant UN humanitarian access to help the affected population.
The resolution also condemns the seizure of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, its personnel and the creation of constant risks and threats, primarily unprecedented nuclear and radiation danger, for the population of Ukraine, neighboring states, and the international community, as well as targeted terrorist attacks by missiles and UAVs on civilian infrastructure, resulting in large victims among the civilian population.
In addition, the resolution indicates the inadmissibility of attacks on Ukrainian civilian port infrastructure and grain terminals, the ongoing blockade of Ukrainian ports, as well as threats to use force against civilian and commercial vessels, which cause significant damage to global food security.
“We are grateful to the international community for supporting our state in defending territorial integrity and sovereignty, human rights and fundamental freedoms. Restoring respect for these principles will be the most effective way to achieve a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in Ukraine and strengthen European and global security,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
The clear position of the UN member states that supported the resolution will contribute to bringing to justice all those involved in gross violations of human rights and war crimes and will prevent the repetition of similar crimes in the future, the department added.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that the implementation of the idea of multiple citizenship can become one of the mechanisms to maintain a connection with the homeland for those Ukrainians who left the country after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion and have already begun to build their lives abroad.
“I was talking about this even before the full-scale war started. It was in our program. There are indeed 60 million Ukrainians in the world, and not all of them have to live in Ukraine. They have their own stories, their own families, some were born in Canada, the United States, etc. But we need to give them the opportunity to support Ukraine, to feel like Ukrainians, to help, to open businesses here, to pay taxes. All this will definitely benefit Ukraine,” the Head of State said at the end-of-year press conference.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the resolution of this issue should not be delayed.
“I would like our people abroad, especially women and children, to hear this. So that when they find a job and build a new life, they do not rush to renounce their Ukrainian citizenship. I think we cannot lose such people. And multiple citizenship partially solves this issue,” he said.
The President expressed his belief that most Ukrainians who were forced to flee abroad from the Russian war will return home when Ukraine’s air defense system becomes even more powerful. In addition, European countries can review and optimize their refugee support programs over time.
“The countries of Europe and the United States will support those of our citizens who are having a hard time. But those who, for example, are employed, will have a different level of support,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.

Another T-90M is destroyed by Ukrainian drones near Krynky, over the Dnipro River in Kherson. Ukraine crossed the Dnipro near Krynky earlier this year. Since then, Russia has failed to dislodge them. This isn’t the first T-90M destroyed near Krynky and on the eastern side of the Dnipro.
