Some 20,000 people in the cities of Klimovsk, Lyubertsy, and Podolsk, in the Moscow region, have been left without heating for days — some of them for weeks — as temperatures have dropped below -25C last week, Russian Telegram channel Baza reported. Local authorities declared an emergency.

“Due to sanctions and overblown military spending, Russia does not have enough resources to spare for annual checkups of its outdated housing and utilities sector,"

Demographics are destiny. Add in AIDS and alcohol. And Russians do not breed well.

Between conscription, deserters, and war dead, not enough workers for production.

Like the famous Polish plumbers, the Russian plumbers left town looking for better wages. If crops are planted, who will harvest them?

With that conundrum, in a few years, Russia will have its very own "Turnip Winter." For many of the same reasons as Germany's winter of 1916-1917. A quick blitz, a special military operation...the Schlieffen Plan

EASY PEASY!

Yesterday there were 870,000 US households with no power and you’re concerned about a relative few Russians. Man, you’re ate up with Russia, Russia, Russia.

"The Polish plumber and the Polish builder are stereotypes of cheap labour coming from Central and Eastern Europe to work in Western Europe. They are both a symbol of the fear that cheap Eastern European labour is threatening the jobs of Western Europeans and a symbol of foreign labour being more affordable and reliable."

Heh, what about the 870,000 American homes with no power yesterday? That kinda blows your stupid hit piece recognizing that it happens in Russia too out of the water. How about the tragedy of slippery and dangerous snowy Ruskie roads? Oh, the huge manatee!

You would be better off discussing your issues with your therapist.
Then again he might offer you a few poppers and convert you.

“I told myself it was beneath my dignity to arrest a man for pilfering firewood. But nothing ordered by the Party is beneath the dignity of any man. And the Party was right: one man desperate for a bit of fuel is pathetic; five million people desperate for fuel will destroy a city. “ —from Dr Zhivago

—” —from Dr Zhivago”

... So I went for a quick refresher on Dr Zhivago.
Down the rabits hole and a longish bio on Boris Pasternak.

Yes, a communist to the core, but an incredible individual.

“In April 1934 Osip Mandelstam recited his “Stalin Epigram” to Pasternak. After listening, Pasternak told Mandelstam: “I didn’t hear this, you didn’t recite it to me, because, you know, very strange and terrible things are happening now: they’ve begun to pick people up. I’m afraid the walls have ears and perhaps even these benches on the boulevard here may be able to listen and tell tales. So let’s make out that I heard nothing.”

On the night of 14 May 1934, Mandelstam was arrested at his home based on a warrant signed by NKVD boss Genrikh Yagoda. Devastated, Pasternak went immediately to the offices of Izvestia and begged Nikolai Bukharin to intercede on Mandelstam’s behalf.”

In a 1958 letter to a friend in West Germany, Pasternak wrote, “She was put in jail on my account, as the person considered by the secret police to be closest to me, and they hoped that by means of a gruelling interrogation and threats they could extract enough evidence from her to put me on trial. I owe my life, and the fact that they did not touch me in those years, to her heroism and endurance.”

Thank you for pointing me to this bit of history.

Difficult to believe that some here advocate for Putin and this way of life.

Demographics of Russia - Wikipedia
The birth rate was 8.9 new babies per 100,000 inhabitants, the lowest crude birth rate since the year 2000. Russia has one of the lowest fertility rates in the world with 1.42 children per woman in 2022, below 2.1 children per woman, which must be the number reached in order to maintain its population.

Then if our birthrate is too low, maybe the illegal immigration problem is not such a problem. No ones is trying to sneak into homo cleansed Russia that is for sure.

Too bad there is not some sort of online drinking party. One would have to take a shot whenever the word “globohomo” is encountered.

Big deal, a little cold never bothered the Russians. Here in Calgary, it is -31C right now (-24F) and will be -35C (-31F) tomorrow. And we’re fine - just dress in layers.

Well, when we're fed endless propaganda about how Putin's Russia is conservative paradise in spite of its high abortion rates, support of BLM and Hillary Clinton, and silencing of free speech, what do you expect? No Freeper I'm aware of is trying to minimize the problems of Biden's America.
