Chase bank is holding my credit score hostage. They dropped it 10 points, then offered to bring it back up if I eliminated two charge cards and their balances because the cards were “high impact”. Both are sporting goods stores, one better known for firearms. One discounts my ammo and gets paid off immediately, the other offers great year long zero interest options which allow me to short circuit the omniscient “emergency event” savings and windfall devouring gremlins.
