Hunter Biden's Chinese energy business partner told investigators he never had 'professional' contact with Joe Biden, but was clueless as to why the Biden family was involved in energy deals in the first place, without having experience in the sector.
House Republicans hauled in former Biden business associate Mervyn Yan Thursday to answer questions as part of their impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden's alleged connections to his family's shady dealings.
The GOP is narrowing in on tracing the millions of dollars that flowed between Chinese businessman Mervyn Yan and family associate John 'Rob' Walker, who they say used shell companies to allegedly deposit the foreign money into Biden bank accounts.
According to top Republican James Comer, R-Ky., Yan 'admitted on the record' during questioning that the Biden family had 'no experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors and was not sure what they brought to the table.'
But Democratic investigators insisted that Yan testified he 'never did business with' or had any 'personal or professional communications' with Joe Biden.
He apparently told the committees that Hunter contributed 'legitimate value' through 'sourcing deals' and 'identifying projects' for their joint venture, according to a source.
In addition, Yan's attorney maintained that his client 'has had no professional contact or communication with President Biden at any time' and he had no documents which demonstrate 'misconduct' by Joe, according to a letter to Comer.
Republicans remain hopeful that Walker's testimony tomorrow will shine additional light on the situation.
Yan and Walker were summoned under subpoena to sit for closed-door transcribed interviews Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. ET, respectively, before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees.
They were called in because of the information the GOP says they have related to how Joe Biden may have benefitted from the relationships with 'Chinese sources'...
