A fourth co-defendant in the Georgia case against former president Donald Trump has filed a motion for the court to disqualify embattled District Attorney Fani Willis.
Co-defendant David Schafer, who in 2020 served as the Georgia GOP Chairman and a GOP presidential elector for Georgia during the 2020 election, filed a motion in court Monday saying Willis has engaged in a "pattern of prosecutorial, forensic misconduct" which he says should disqualify not only her, but her entire office and prosecution staff.
Schafer’s motion follows co-defendant Michael Roman’s claims that Willis engaged in an "improper" relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade whom she hired to prosecute the sprawling racketeering case against Trump and asked the court to disqualify her from the case. Willis on Friday responded to the allegations in a court filing and admitted to having a "personal" relationship with Wade but denied any conflict of interest. She also argued that according to Georgia law, in order for a district attorney to be forcibly removed from a case, the conflict of interest has to be harmful to a defendant's case.
Schafer on Monday claimed that Willis has a "pattern of prejudicial public statements" about the case through various media interviews and public speeches, and claimed that in making such statements, she intended to "reject and infect the jury pool." Shafer and his lawyers argue that this is primarily what warrants her removal.
The court filing Monday references when Willis first addressed the affair allegations in January during remarks she made at Bethel AME Church in Atlanta.
"They only attacked one," she said. "First thing they say, ‘Oh, she’s gonna play the race card now.’
"But no God, isn’t it them that’s playing the race card when they only question one," Willis asked.

The least that Fani Willis needs is a total period of mental therapy to extract Trump from the occupancy of her mind. I can imagine her seizures when go goes into Trump overload.

By hiding behind her blackness, Willis affirms she’s involved in some very serious wrongdoing. Legal responses are expected to be delivered in court but Willis went to church....a decidedly black church to, 1. underline her blackness, and, 2. score points about racism.
Her speech in church was purely political agit-prop, evasive on pretty much every material factual question. It was a serious disservice to Willis’ constituents, and further calls into question her professional judgment, which had already come under scrutiny even before all this.
She suggests her blackness alone is the reason the case was brought to buttress her burgeoning ambitions.
Willis whined, Trump’s allies were racists heaping extra scrutiny on a Black woman, but the fact is that attorneys of color also make mistakes, and they are also capable of engaging in serious professional misconduct just like white people.
The fact that a prosecutor is Black, brown, blue or any other color does not grant them immunity from legitimate questions about how they do their jobs. Defendant’s may nit-pick the charges against them but criticism in a court of law is not typically construed as racism.
A “cheap shot” comes to mind.
It is incumbent upon Willis to address the allegations clearly and forthrightly — and to let the chips fall where they may.

The big fanny looks like she’s been livin’ large.
"And Joe Biden told me when I dump Trump, there's cushy, high pension jobs in DC for us. We're going places, baby."
FUGLY THUGS!!
She probably has come under the scrutiny of the FBI task force that is in charge of infiltrating the black churches. Just like the traditional Catholics, right?
If people will stand by it, this will be the cancellation of the race card once and for all. About damn time.
Just a innocent question...this church that opened up it’s front door and gave her access...who is the minister and chief deacon? Is it possible that they might know her in some intimate way as well?
Thx for that.......
May I ask why you believe this will kibosh the race card?
“ May I ask why you believe this will kibosh the race card?”
It is blatant, formulaic, and anticipated. As a result, she has lost credibility and will not be taken seriously. Crying racism where it doesn’t exist will not restore her credibility. She’s done. Same for anyone else in a position of power. Her persecution of Trump would be unacceptable regardless of her sex or color.
Great insight......thx for that.
This was a bunch of bu11$h!t lawfare from the beginning.
The thing that is most annoying is that only prosecutors with black-privilege were chosen to file/handle these cases. (Well, there might be some behind-the-sceners with white-privilege pulling the puppet strings.)
My point is that the specious claims/charges made to “get Trump and MAGA people” are given an air of sanctity (LOL) by the main-stream media because ... the chief prosecutors are black.
It is doubtful that a smart black OR white (or grey, etc.) prosecutor could be found to engage in this kind of fraud on the court.
OTOH - Trump is sure getting a lot of visibility to boost his profile as one who fights entrenched corruption.
“(Well, there might be some behind-the-sceners with white-privilege pulling the puppet strings.)”
From NYC probably.
Pride goeth before a fall.
