I know many of us on Free Republic resent the NFL for various reasons, but the rest of the world doesn’t share those views.NFL Football is the #1 shared cultural activity in America. 60% of Americans are engaged in watching NFL Football on a weekly basis. Nearly 80% of these viewers are men 50 and over who make $100k/yr.
The NFL went woke after George Floyd, shoved BLM down everyone's throats and *LOST* viewers for the next two Super Bowls. They're now trying to dig themselves back out of this hole. And while we still have the "END RACISM" endzones and the black national anthem, the NFL seems to be trying to throttle back on the politics and wokeism. It seems to be working.
And now they've got Taylor Swift.

The KC Chiefs were losing the game until Taylor Swift stood up and clicked the heels of her ruby red slippers three times.

The NFL has learned to tone down its wokeism. It hurt them big time during the kneeling era as TV viewership fell dramatically. I was one who did not watch an NFL game for two years.
The "End Racism" messages in the end zones are annoying (America is NOT a racist country), but at least they're not pushing it hard.
As for the "black national anthem," it was sang maybe 30 minutes (long before the players took the field) before the "Star Spangled Banner." It was introduced by the song's name ("Lift Every Voice and Sing"), and no one was asked to stand. It was soft-peddled, which has angered some woke activists.
