EXCLUSIVE Don Henley can be grilled about 16 year-old prostitute OD'ing at his LA home in 1980 by lawyers for men he claims stole lyrics from Eagles' Hotel California album

A Manhattan judge has ruled that legendary Eagles singer Don Henley can be questioned over an incident in 1980 in which a 16-year-old prostitute suffered a drug overdose in his Los Angeles home.

The musician, 76, has accused memorabilia dealer Glenn Horowitz, Craig Inciardi and Edward Kosinski of stealing handwritten notes and lyrics for the Eagles' blockbuster 1976 album Hotel California.

All three have been accused of trying to sell the materials, worth more than $1million, and lying to auction houses, prospective buyers and cops about how they obtained them between March 2012 and December 2016.

Horowitz, 68, of Manhattan; Inciardi, 59 of Brooklyn, and Kosinski, 61, of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession charges, and Horowitz to an extra charge of hindering prosecution.

Attorneys for Kosinski will introduce a statement from 1981, seen by DailyMail.com, written and signed by singer Henley in which he admits to trying to have sex with the underage girl and that he shared cocaine with her before she overdosed.

Henley was arrested on November 21, 1980 after an ambulance was called to his home when a 16-year-old sex worker overdosed at his Los Angeles property.

He told a Santa Monica probation officer he was depressed as he had separated from a long term girlfriend, was involved in a jet crash near Colorado and 'despondent about waking up every morning, not knowing if my group, the Eagles, had broken up or not'.

The rock star said he called up a 'Madam' who he claims appeared to be 19 or 20 years old and he shared some cocaine with her.

'She told me that she was only a temporary call-girl until she paid off a $2000 cocaine debt in San Diego,' Henley wrote in the statement.

I don’t remember reading about or hearing any major group or singer citing the Eagles as an influence. I’ve read about or heard many major groups and singers citing the Beatles as an influence. Just sayin’.

Good for you, enjoy both songs. The rest of the world will continue to enjoy all Beatles albums, as it’s been doing since 1961.

Silly me. I thought the result of “OD’ing” was that the person who OD’d was dead.

I mean, pretty much anyone who does illegal drugs takes too much (an overdose) of whatever drug they’re doing.

I’m pretty sure the headline writer wanted people to infer that. She actually didn’t really OD, and the paramedics who checked on her didn’t take her to the hospital. Like you, I think of OD like drowning or electrocution. You’re dead.

Ok, thanks for that. And I confess, I didn’t read the story in detail.

I did read the first sentence, which contained the words “suffered a drug overdose.” I took that to mean she was deceased.

So yes, yes, I admit it. I didn’t read the story before commenting.

They made a movie where “others” acted with Beatle songs playing voiced by others. Their music catalogue was very large. I was listening to other things. No knock on the Beatles, but they were just another band to a lot of people. Like Taylor Swift, hype and marketing they have in common.

” Eagles have lasting quality, and are much better at harmonizing. Too bad they’re such libs, especially Henley.”
Hensley may be a jerk but one great song writer. He and Frey could do amazing stuff. But I have never really liked them after they dumped Felder. Never really understood why Joe Walsh stayed with them.

My favorites were Frey and Walsh. Joe Walsh used to come into the government office where I worked to see (I think) his daughter in kids plays at the little theater there. Super nice.

I haven’t heard the group after Glenn Frey’s son became a part of it.

but it might be hard to determine what happened 40 years ago

Worked for E. Jean Carroll. She couldn't even remember what year it happened (totally denying Trump the opportunity to present an alibi) and still walked away with millions that she'll never see a penny of.

Eagles have lasting quality, and are much better at harmonizing. Too bad they’re such libs, especially Henley.

If I limited my musical intake to only those musicians with whom I agreed politically, my collection would consist of little more than albums by Ted Nugent and Kid Rock.

My favorite musical acts are libtards. I've reconciled the fact that I can and will enjoy their music while still dismissing them as libtards.

We have seen them in concert twice. Absolutely fantastic both times. Would like to see them one more time.
