Rapid adoption of electric vehicles and low-carbon energy would dramatically improve children’s respiratory health in the United States, according to a new report released Wednesday by the American Lung Association.
If the U.S. meets three targets — 100 percent zero-emission passenger vehicle sales by 2035, emission-free truck sales by 2040 and a fossil-fuel-free electric grid by 2035 — it could prevent 2.79 million total asthma attacks among children, 147,000 pediatric bronchitis cases and over 500 infant deaths by midcentury, the organization found.
“Curbing pollution from transportation and energy production is key to cleaning our air and protecting our nation’s children,” said Will Barrett, senior director for nationwide clean air advocacy at the American Lung Association, in an email.

Think about it, preventing just under 3 million asthma attacks by mid-century!!! If you only had 3 million children with asthma that would mean that they would each have one less asthma attack in the next 26 years.

Last I knew, nobody knew for sure what causes asthma.
I was thinking of it as a diffuse irritant, for which I'd bet there is no data.
Okay I reread it so maybe they mean that amount annually but even so that doesn’t prevent very many asthma attacks if you think about it.

We spend hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars on pollution controls. REAL pollution like sulphur emissions, particulate emissions and NOx emissions. Now they are somehow linking the WHOLE economy going to EVs to reduced asthma ATTACKS?
As many have said, the issue is the not the issue, the issue is the revolution. Whether these greeniac lunatics are diehard commies or just fellow travelers doesn’t matter.

"Zero emission" transport means only that the energy source is distant from the use, and therefore any emissions are "deemed" zero at the end point, when the source in not considered.
The "100 percent zero-emission passenger vehicle" is a lie. Moreover it is a political lie.

Lithium hydroxide is a very strong base like sodium hydroxide, the active ingredient of drain opener.
At the very least, they should let us mine cobalt from Minnesota so that it doesn't have to be mined in Congo, but they won't let us do that. Evidently they don't care for the children.
