If US/UK/FRA are not responsible for the attacks in Russia, then Russia & Iran are not responsible for Ansar Allah attacks in the Red Sea.

That’s how it spins out of control.

It’s being claimed that the Houthi missile that took out the UK naval vessel was supplied by Russia in retaliation for the UK assisting Ukraine in taking out a Russian naval vessel. Putin has already made remarks about how maybe Russia should supply Yemen with “defensive weapons”. You can be sure if the Israel/Gaza war goes regional Russia will be supplying Iran with weapons. They’ve already begun supply Syria with anti-aircraft systems to counter Israeli strikes.

I guess the MIC is a good industry to be working in right about now.

“The Russians might give hypersonics to Iran and Yemen.”

Hypersonic weapons are fantastically expensive and only have utility if you know exactly where the target is and the target is too well protected against normal ballistic weapons. An aircraft carrier, assuming you knew exactly to the inch where it would be, is an ideal high value target. A tanker or even a normal warship is not worth the cost of a hypersonic weapon.

How about the HMS Diamond?

Sometimes the cost doesn’t matter.

You certainly cannot consider the outcome of the Korean conflict as negative or a defeat looking at Nork and SoKorea today, or do you?
Also do you know that the U.S. ‘defeat’ in VietNam was political said General Giap CommanderinChief of the NVA ?

Good questions. Neither Korea nor Vietnam were (obviously) total victories. Korea was a stalemate and Vietnam was a loss. In the latter case politics played a huge part, as you noted.

My point is that the United States should have learned something from those conflicts. But evidently we have not. We still cannot conceive of being beaten. So there’s no need for caution on the international scene.

Napoleon had the same problem. And we all know where he ended up.

In terms of objectives Korea was a victory.
According to the head North VietNam dude, politics was THE reason for the U.S. ‘defeat’.

For those of you who have hatred for russian federation and feel joy when their soldiers die, you should demand a declaration of war against russia. Think how happy you will be when your children or grandchildren bleed out into the eastern european mud. Be the first ones in your neighborhood to have your kids come home in a bag.
