Seems like a plethora of historical examples would be ample evidence, but the average leftist isn’t really the thinking type.
The dirty little secret about the wealth distribution of the leftist ruling class is that they only redistribute the wealth—to themselves.
Have you ever considered why leftist ruling-class leaders are extraordinarily rich while they also preach wealth redistribution? And why is it that leftists never bring this up?
Look at the evidence down through history and around the world, and you will see the same pattern repeated with every leftist regime. Let’s begin with the now-defunct USSR, which was supposed to be a utopic “worker’s paradise”; what manifested were crammed apartment blocks and queues for bread and toilet paper, while the “select few” of the nomenklatura lived in luxury. It’s been reported that Mikhail Gorbachev, the last USSR leader, had a net worth of $5 million.
Then there is the leftist leader about whom the national socialist media can’t stop talking, whose final objective of a “Classless German Society” was undermined when it was revealed he “Loved Money and Died Rich”. And speaking of dictators adored by leftists, let’s not forget the far-left’s idol Fidel Castro, who made the usual promises and had a net worth of $900 million. Then there’s the leftist regime of North Korea; while the common people starved, Kim Jong-il lived it up and was amassed $4 billion. His son Kim Jong Un took over as supreme leader in 2011 and was reported to be worth $5 billion a few years ago, with one report having $1 trillion in assets these days.
Don’t forget that according to leftist doctrine, the government under the ever-perfect utopia of communism is supposed to “wither away” after a few years. Such as in communist red China, home of the Tiananmen...

Do you think they’re paying attention? Even at the grocery story, they’re using government, i.e., OUR, money. “Dancing With The Stars” and “Family Feud” are more interesting to them.

No they don’t. Irrational individuals don’t think...they don’t live in reality.
They don’t seem to realize much of anything.
They have discovered that their wealth distribution schemes only serve to consolidate power, wealth, and privilege among themselves, And their indoctrination and propaganda have fooled their followers into believing them.
They don’t think, they feel.
I think there's a lot of that. There's also IMHO an element of escaping responsibility. If a person knows the government is corrupt, yet halfway believes the left's lies that the government will take care of his needs and wants, then the person will allow himself to not worry about taking on personal responsibility for his future.
I phrase it in language like "allow himself" because that's how I sometimes hear it. With some of the Dims' voters it's not about die-hard-allegiance to leftism, but about more like a drug that someone takes to get high to not worry about today's or tomorrow's needs. Often the person knows it's not good in the long run, even for himself. But with the high he can kick the can down the road (using a political phrase for how some people mentally process how voting Dim allows him to procrastinate on his personal responsibility).
Much of the GOP base doesn’t realize who is really in control either.
The ruling class and the MSM realized they could control the message during Nixon.
They underestimated Reagan’s popularity in spite of the constant “he is going to start WW3” mantra.

When (not if) the businesses in their neighborhood decide it is time to leave, then the deep state and their lackeys in media, churches, etc. will blame racism or greedflation or anything but the real cause and the rank-and-file leftists will buy it.
They may be adults, but drugs, what masquerades as an education system and their social circles have prevented them from getting a fully developed brain.
It’s more of a cult religion than a political party these days.
It is easy to fill a completely empty bucket with whatever you like.
Does the Arthor realize that this is the same people who say things such as “any dictator that gives me free healthcare is a dictator I like!”
They're stooges and they don't care, as long as they can feel like they're part of something larger than themselves and stick it to anyone who even appears to disagree with them.
The left uses an arsenal of emotional arguments to keep the poor under their thumbs.
They tell the poor that the government is taking care of them. In reality, they give just enough to survive; the poor don’t get to participate in middle class luxuries like travel.
They tell the poor that if Democrats are not in charge, the government will take away everything they have.
They tell the poor that the rich are greedy and steal from the poor. The “rich” are anyone in the middle class and above.
They tell the poor that only rich people can go to college. They do this to discourage poor people from trying to better themselves.
And they tell the poor that Republicans are the embodiment of evil.
I was raised in this belief system. Only when I threw away the leftist indoctrination did I become successful. It wasn’t easy. When I challenge leftists, I try to make them think about their ingrained beliefs. They can only change if they start to doubt.
