You can find isoleucine-rich foods in:

Lamb, Veal, and Game Products
Beef Products
Dairy and Egg Products
Legumes and Legume Products
Poultry Products
Nuts and Seeds

With the exception of the legumes, nuts, and seeds - I wouldn’t expect mice to be eating most of this type of stuff anyway, so it makes sense too much is a bad thing for them.

Carnivores such as tigers, leopards, hyenas have strong bodies, but live lot less years than herbivores such as elephants, turtles.

All one has to do is open eyes and use the brain to observe.

You have to die of something. Once I pass age 80, I’m going to eat what I want.

"But narrowing these benefits down to a single amino acid gets us closer to understanding the biological processes and maybe potential interventions for humans, like an isolieucine-blocking drug."

They are always looking to sell us another drug.

What do you want to bet that the drug to that reduces isolieucine in your system will have a really bad side effect like death.

“ we have to get it from sources like eggs, dairy, soy protein and meats.”

In other words from food.

It is a fact that isoleucine is necessary for the growth of muscle tissue.

It is also a fact that the more muscular a person is, the longer they live, on average (you really, REALLY don’t want to be frail headed into old age, you’re going to die a lot sooner).

So this study is telling you that limiting a key amino acid in the maintenance and growth of muscle will help you live longer…which is utter BS, according to another set of studies.

Just think, there's the cute little old mouse, merrily chugging along, living 33% longer, and everything is fine-and-dandy, and hunky-dory, and la-ti-da-di, then,

      WHAMMO!!!

“The researchers think restricting isoleucine in humans, either by diet or pharmaceutical means,”

I predict the next big fad and money maker for the drug companies. Another killer drug on the way.

“Male mice had their lifespans increased 33 percent compared to those whose isoleucine was not restricted, and females had a 7 percent increase.”

Isoleucine is misogynistic, sexist, and part of The Patriarchy. It’s probably racist, too, but this hasn’t been studied yet.

I have read through #45, the last one at present, and I think I see the problem.

All posters so far are young.

Those of us who are older remember when coffee was poison. It would cause cancer, tumors in women’s breasts, ....

Butter would kill you. You must use a substitute.

Salt will kill you....

Beef will kill you....And eggs were as bad as the worst.

Now we are told that all are better for you than their substitutes.

The main lesson here is that there is an expert who has found something, but has no idea what.

My definition of a fool: One who knows everything but knows not what to do with what he knows.
