Part 1 was featured here last week. Did you see it? It explored the beginnings of a true FReeper tradition. A tradition that is in dire need of being resuscitated.

Well, Mr. B has decided to retire from the OFST chairmanship and turned the ping list over to me. So, in keeping with our pre-weekend ritual! Let the silliness commence!
BJ regularly posted quite a few Silliness Threads. But starting on 06/16/2006 Sully777 took over.
Uh-oh. Sully went out in a blaze of glory on THE ultimate Bugzapper Thread. How silly of Sully.

Her, I remember. She ran the threads for years. And all her threads were VERY creative. She spent beaucoup time each week coming up with a theme and pictures.
Her last post was 06/08/2018. IIRC she was a busy mom of youngsters. She begged someone to take over as she just had no time to put together a quality Silliness Thread.
The OFST was hit or miss for a while, but Colonial35 picked it up in April 2020. The replies going forward for all Silliness Threads were dismal. Most Fridays the threads barely got past 50 replies.
JRios1968 took over on 02/26/2021
Trillian hosted it from October of 2021 through April of 2022. Then that’s it. No Mas.

In the spirit of silliness and the importance of not being a dry cod...... the following oldie but goodie
In the days of old, when Knights were bold, ladies were taken to the tournaments. They excitedly dressed in their finest finery to see and to be seen. It was my honor to escort the lady Geneva, the sister of the duke to the event.
She was not too well versed on just exactly what was transpiring but was eager to choose a champion and to wager the 50 florins in her purse. I carefully explained the jousting course and how the knights rode towards each other, lances lowered to unhorse their opponent.
We reviewed the warriors. There was Sir Geffery Dilandsworth wearing the gleaming armor and carrying the shield with the distinctive blue and white checkered shield. There was Sir Albert Truan in the black armor and a green pennant of Vaud rippling from his lance, there was Sir Gilbane De Valier, lord of St Gelbert manor on the huge gray charger and there was Sir Zagnoc Miclicokye Earl of the Chech barony in the wonderful red chain mail mantle over his shoulders Aegis like.
After the first round, half were eliminated and so it went till there were only 6 left. My lady, a thrifty sort still had her florins and was deciding how best to wager. She cried out to Sir Albert and waved her lace kerchief and then pointed to the bold knight and swooned “Is that Sir Zagnoc with the pretty shield”?’
“Of course not “ I responded……”How many times must I tell you, The Chech’s in the mail”

Reminds of the hullabaloo that occured when some unfortunate soul used the term “a chink in his armor” at what was considered by the MSM to be an inappropriate time
