Annie - wow. Can I have your autograph?

I’m not being sarcastic, I’m serious. What a great experience that must have been. You are blessed.

Someone disagrees with you:

Welcome Back, Dad

I've been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we'd never see his like again because he was one of a kind. I was wrong! Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she. And what a she! This was Ronald Reagan at his best -- the same Ronald Reagan who made the address known now solely as "The Speech," which during the Goldwater campaign set the tone and the agenda for the rebirth of the traditional conservative movement that later sent him to the White House for eight years and revived the moribund GOP. Welcome back, Dad, even if you're wearing a dress and bearing children this time around.

~Michael Reagan, radio talk show host and son of President Ronald Reagan

Isn't it special to see those that attack palin non stop try to disconnect her to Reagan.

the fact is that Palin’s policies and voter block is the closest any national politician as come to Reagan and therefore she deserves the comparison.

when Mitt starts to govern, state polices, acts like a happy warrior and has charisma like Reagan we will compare him to Reagan.

Palin brings about the comparison because she does those things. she fights for her polices and conservative positions like Reagan.

she motivates voters like Reagan.

she has governed with the Constitution in the fore like Reagan.

she is always a happy warrior taking the slings and arrows and continue to fight for her principles turning the attacks back on the attackers with a deft phrase more likely than not like Reagan.

she has class, style and a charisma like Reagan.

does this mean she is Reagan no but it does mean she is a disciple of Reagan.

I said it before calling Palin Reagan would be like calling St Peter Jesus. they are not the same yet their beliefs and character follow one another.

It was a blessing - one I’ll never forget. As a 2nd generation American from the U.K., I felt an immediate connection with her as I shook her hand. She is, in many ways, Churchillian....though much better looking!

Sarah... don’t get caught up in any Ronald Reagan comparisons and don’t let it go to your head. although flattering as it might be, and how amazing it would be to meet MThatcher, remember to be your own person and not something other people are trying to mold you into.

as long as you’ve given it your all, you’ll have no regrets. you’ll be able to stand on your own feet as your own candidate, and not expected to live up to the standard set by someone else.

and at this time in our country, we need more people like you to defend what the country stood for and keep it on the right track.

Yes, I know he has said that. Still stand by my earlier statement.

Think of it this way.

Reagan was the teacher and Sarah was the student. Now is the time for the student to take over for the teacher.

It sounds like you have on of those PDS ankle biters living in your house.

It's silly for people to try and fit anyone into "the next XXX" mold, whomever XXX is. Everyone is different, and if someone pretends to be someone else that they're not, then they lose any credibility that they might otherwise have had.

On the other hand, it's quite clear that Palin has studied Reagan (and Nixon, for that matter) and what worked in terms of building power base and coalitions as well as working around the media to get a message out.

i’ll just post Palin’s words on the subject:

As I wrote last year when I offered her birthday wishes, Baroness Thatcher’s life and career serve as a blueprint for overcoming the odds and challenging the “status quo.” She started life as a grocer’s daughter from Grantham and rose to become Prime Minister – all by her own merit and hard work. I cherish her example and will always count her as one of my role models. Her friendship with my other political hero, Ronald Reagan, exemplified the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.

If there is any politician in America who has the “Reaganisque” charisma, it is undoubtedly Sarah Palin.

I like Palin, but I'm afraid the author of this article is retarded.
