SCOTTSDALE - Members of Sarah Palin's camp are considering basing her presidential campaign in Scottsdale, according to Politico.com.
She hasn't yet decided whether she will run, but Politico reports that sources within her camp think Scottsdale is a top headquarters location.
For one, Palin's daughter Bristol bought a home in Maricopa a few months ago.
In the wake of the Tucson shootings, Palin was blasted for a "crosshairs map" she released during the 2010 election that marked Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson as a Democratic to vote out. Some critics connected that rhetoric to the shooting, later leading her to release a Facebook video condemning the attack.
By setting up shop in Scottsdale, Palin could combat any lingering suggestions that her fiery political discourse somehow influenced the suspect in Giffords' shooting, Politico contends.
Arizona also leans Republican, and the Tea Party movement, of which Sarah Palin is identified with, is strong here. Last fall, Palin made a surprise visit at a Tea Party Express rally in Phoenix.
So why not stay in Alaska? No doubt travel between Alaska and the 48 continental states is tedious, and the time difference is another obstacle -- all things that Palin learned the hard way during her 2008 stint as a Vice President candidate on McCain's ticket.

I trust the Politico about as far as I can throw them underwater, but even the National Enquirer was right about John Edwards, so who knows?

(BTW, praying for you.)
This may explain:
1. Bristol bought a house in AZ
2. Secret meeting with Jan Brewer while the latter was on vacation (possible VP pick?)
The mystery continues...

probably more to do with being close to Bristol than Giffords or even mcCain.

I can only imagine the comments at politico will be all negative? It`s not a place I visit.
I hope it`s true that she is seriously considering. I hope she has already decided to run!

IIRC, it’s one of the homes of the journ-o-listers that ran a list-serve dedicated to brainstorming attacks and smears on Gov. Palin, so a huge grain of salt is needed whenever they report on her.

Well who says one has to be electable to run? Howard Dean was a huge front-runner.

And they say Sarah is dumb, bet she knows that Alaska is on the same continent as the other 48 states.

She should rent a little office in SanFran just to make the Tards act out.
It would give her leverage in the eyes of America when the windows
are all broken, and bullets are sent through the windows. Of course, she
shouldn't have it manned, just there.

Politico:
The prospect of Sarah Palin running for president is, increasingly, dismissed by a political class that sees her facing weak poll numbers -- especially in key early states -- and doing nothing to correct them or to build the infrastructure for a run. But I'm told Palin's camp is, at least, holding preliminary talks about how a campaign would look if she decides to run. One early decision, a source says: It would be based in Scottsdale, Arizona, very near where Bristol Palin recently bought a house in Maricopa.
Ben Smith just writing stuff to make deadline. There is no evidence she is running. Some vague insider talking about what a campaign might look like? The only reason they have for picking Scottsdale is because Bristol lives there? What a bunch of BS. More wishful thinking from the left for a Sarah run.
