Sarah Palin On a 2016 Run: "I'll Never Say Never"
RealClearPolitics ^ | March 8, 2014

Posted on 03/08/2014 2:33:12 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: Do you have a favorite candidate for 2016?

SARAH PALIN: No, not yet.

VAN SUSTEREN: Nothing? Who is sort of your -- who is at the top of your list? Are you considering running?

PALIN: Who is at the top of my list.

VAN SUSTEREN: Let me back up to my other question.

PALIN: No, question at a time. I appreciate those who have fought for America, like Ted Cruz, like Rand Paul. You know though, it doesn't have to be someone who has a title today, someone in office today. In fact, some would say we need to stay clear of those who have followed a conventional political path. Maybe they are part of the problem. There are businessmen and women out there. There are strong family men and women who understand what it is that makes America exceptional and they want to protect that. They want to get back to that. Maybe someone like that will rise and be the candidate in 2016. Maybe that's what we need.

VAN SUSTEREN: Okay now I get to ask that question. Are you considering -- is it still within a possibility that you'll run in 2016?

PALIN: It sounds cliche, but you never say never. Now, I -- at this point in time, I don't have a team of people, you know, getting out there doing these poll-tested whatever they do to let you know if you should run or not. I don't have any of that kind of organization going. I'll never say never....

Do I REALLY have to explain to you, at this remove, why she had to resign?

You'd think that after six years, and on a conservative website like FR, that everyone here would be 100% informed as to the truth of Palin's resignation, but no. Not even here, where many of us have explained the details ad infinitum.

I was just reading at the UK Daily Mail about Sarah's "Never say never" statement, and the libs are having a field day with the 'quitter' meme.

If Sarah does decide to run, that's the first false narrative she's going to have to dismantle.

-— America needs her to make her intentions known before Rubio, Christie, or another Bush has the nomination locked up. -—

You’re right. I don’t think she understands the problems her indecision causes.

Gov. Palin is one of several excellent choices.

Yeah, I love Palin, but she needs to see Paul for what he is.

It was great that she did not rule out a run.

I love Governor Palin, and she's my first choice for president, but I don't like this answer. She needs to make herself relevant by announcing early, when the conservatives who love her will follow, or she needs to make herself relevant by announcing that she will not run early and clearing the field for other strong conservatives. America needs her to make her intentions known before Rubio, Christie, or another Bush has the nomination locked up.

EXACTLY.

Thanks for the link to the video of Sarah’s CPAC speech.

What can I say? Our Sarah always delivers. She knocked it out of the park yet again.

Do it or don’t do it Sarah. Just don’t play games. If you are running, say so and get busy.

Before I get accused of PDS, I’d vote for her. I was not amused with her maybe/maybe not stunt she pulled last time. She didn’t back out until the politically “last moment,” which kept candidate support off the table leaving Romney to win the nomination.

If we ever succeed, it will be because we unite under the the most conservative candidate early on, who stands a chance of winning. (remember that the right has low info voters, too.)

If imperfect, we do the same thing next election. And the next, and the next until we finally have someone who supports all of our issues.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will we change this nation overnight. We have to start. Being divided will ensure yet another RINO as our candidate.

She waited until the day after the DVD release of her movie The Undefeated (Oct. 5, 2011) to announce that she wasn’t running in 2012. I love Sarah but I don’t like a tease.

Is she preparing us for a Todd Palin run?????

Not serious - it just struck me that she could have been describing her hubby.

You know cowboy, what drives them crazy is the way she ridicules them. She turns the tables on them and gets the best of them at their own game. They think they own the Alinski rules, but she plays them better. I think that’s why we love her so. She does what we want all our conservative politicians to do and they won’t. She shoots from the hip and darn the torpedoes.

It’s not possible to know whether or not Sarah could win the presidency. She has weaknesses that work against her. She does not interview very well, and she is too honest. But, in all the world there is nobody who can whip up a crowd better. If winning depended only on campaigning, she would win in a walk. I would walk over coals to hear her give a campaign speech. If she would pull an obama and do nothing else but campaign, she would win. He never gave interviews when he was running.

It sounded like to me that she was backing Ted Cruz.

Yes she does, and it works because underneath her wit and humor is a mountain of truth.

When Sarah goes after the left, she doesn't just make up things to ridicule them (as they do to conservatives), she merely points out their gargantuan failures and yawning chasms of hypocrisy. Her volleys against the left make us laugh because they're so true.

It's why they hate her like they do. She's got more guts, and is more fearless than any ten Republican politicians put together. She won't be cowed and she will not be silenced, no matter what they do. It's got to frazzle their brains.

It's also why the left is so inept when they attack her. They look at her and can't find the same sort of pitiful degradation they find within themselves, so they answer with vile, demeaning insults. It's all they've got, because Sarah is clean.
