Historically, since 1960 - (with the exception of 1964), the GOP tends to nominate the Gold Watch Candidate, i.e. the fellow who has been around the park the longest and is next in line. At the same time, historically, since 1968, the party has nominated the most "moderate" candidate in the field - with the exception of 1980 when the Gold Watch Candidate Ronald Reagan won over several more moderate candidates who split among themselves.

If conservatives wish to win nomination in 2016, the key word in unity. That is how Reagan won in 1980 when RINO's divided the votes among themselves.

1. Zogby poll. No biggie.

2. If it is Bush 2016, and the hard-headed Conservatives refuse to vote for him, then we can blame them for whatever happens next. (How did not voting for Romney work for the nation?)

At this point, 12% and 14% mean nothing. But, hey, if you want to say that Jeb is the frontrunner, Go For It.
The frontrunner this early on will crash and burn long before the primaries end.

This “poll” only shows that there is no frontrunner.

They sure are starting the BS early this cycle. Media can pick the candidates and if people are stupid enough to follow, they are going to lose again. I’m finished with it. If they run another Romney-alike or fake conservative, I flat-out will not vote again. I’ve being doing the hold your nose thing for too long, I’m finished with it. The Republicans seem bent on self-destruction. We told them what we wanted just a few weeks ago and what did they give us? ... they gave us McConnel. This is coming to a head and if they don’t turn it around, they are going to be competing with libertarian candidates in another decade.

And if the choice is Bush or Clinton? I’m seeing a lot of the same verbiage that was tossed around about Romney...

OK, here’s an interesting question:

An Omnipotent Force tells you that for the 2016 Presidential election, you have the choice of two outcomes:

1) Jeb Bush wins the Presidency

2) It’s the election process as usual

Which would you choose?

I would like to see a poll of the southern states since the Republicans cannot win the general election without a near sweep in these states. Whether or not the self anointed establishment like they cannot win without the support of the southern states.

Don’t even know what to say anymore. It’s apparently obvious that the Republican party no longer wants conservatives. They want to merge with the moderate portion of the democrat party, appease law-breaking immigrants, and secure their place as the dominant party. This has been in the works for quite some time. Kiss the Republican party bye-bye.

The Presidential candidate I support will be pushing the following agends.

Pass a Constitutional Amendment requiring a Balanced Budget

- Budget deficits can only occur with:

o First, a Declaration of National Emergency by the President.

o Second, 5/6 approval of the House and the Senate

- Allow 5 years to produce the first balanced budget from date of ratification

- Deficit = Spending more than previous year’s Federal Tax Receipts.

- “Omnibus” spending authorizations are forbidden. Each branch of the Executive Branch must have its own separate spending authorization

- Violation of law punishable by 5 year mandatory prison sentence. By ‘violation’ I mean Congressmen voting “Yes” and/or President not vetoing any law that deficit spends.

Repeal the 17th Amendment and pass a New Term-Limits Amendment For Elected Officials and Federal Judges

- The President of the United States may serve up to 4 four-year terms. Any Second, Third or Fourth term must also win the popular vote in addition to winning the Electoral College. Any Third or Fourth term must also be won with 60% of the popular vote.

- Senators should be returned to being the voices of the State Governments.

o They shall be elected by state legislatures.

o Terms limited to 2 six-year terms.

- Representatives should become more representative of the population. The Constitution originally called for 1 Representative to the House for every 30,000 people. Right now, that ratio is roughly 1 for every 700,000 people. How can 1 person accurately reflect the will of 700,000?

o Their number to be set at 1 for every 50,000 persons. This will produce a Congress of slightly over 6,000 members.

o Term limited to 4 two-year terms.

o Prohibited from taking any campaigning money or services from any business or organization. Only registered voters in their district may contribute to a campaign fund.

o Individual campaign donations limited to $1000 dollars

o All campaign donations left unspent on each campaign to be donated to a charity supporting families of soldiers killed in active duty.

- Prohibit Federal Retirement Plans for both houses of Congress.

- All Federal Judges are to be appointed for 10 year terms. Judges may be re-appointed to 1 additional 10 year term.

Pass a Constitutional Amendment Banning Abortion

- The first unalienable right listed in the Declaration of Independence is Life. Life is sacred and should be protected and defended at all costs. Any society that will not protect the life of the unborn is a society in decay.

- Abortion is the ultimate “I can do whatever I want, don’t tell me what to do” act. You kill a child because you don’t want to deal with the consequences of behavior. Abortion is morally reprehensible and morally indefensible.

- Abortion has NOTHING to do with Woman’s Rights.

Open ANWAR and ALL coastal waters of the US to Oil Exploration and Development

100% Nuclear, Hydro-Electric, Solar and Wind Power on the National Power Grid by 2040

Illegal Immigration Reform

- Create and administer a secure National ID Card. I know this is unpopular, but if we cannot ascertain a person’s true identity we have a major problem. This can be incorporated through driver’s licenses issued by the states. No RFID tracking. Any interaction with local state and federal government would require the Secure ID.

- Create a National Visitor Identity Card and Data Base for ALL visitors to the US, regardless of duration of stay or reason for visit.

- National E-VERIFY for all employment. No ID, no job. Penalties for violation would be $50,000 per violation per day.

- After 1 year from passage of this law, any foreigner caught in the United States without a valid National Visitor Identity Card shall be deported and permanently barred from entering the US.

- Citizenship shall not be conferred to children born in the United States to non-citizens. Children must be naturalized.

Tax Reform

- Abolish the Current Tax Code Completely. Start with a Clean Sheet of Paper.

- Install a 17% Flat Tax on all wage earners (Wages, tips, capital gains, dividends, any compensation) with No Deductions. Everyone pays the same rate. Make more, pay more. Make less, pay less.

- No corporate income taxes for any business that does all business/manufacturing in the United States.

Create and Install a Layered Phase-Out of the Social Security Administration. 30 Year Plan

Completely remove Welfare from the Federal Government

Abolish the Department of Education

- Restrict the Federal Government’s role in education to developing and analyzing standardized testing for national comparisons and monitoring of educational achievement.

I see how they get to this conclusion.

They define Boehner as conservative.

People like us are the fringe 5%, extremists don’t count.

Judging by recent elections, they know what they are talking about. We hard-right conservatives are very small in number. That’s why we aren’t represented by either party adn arent’ likely to be.

Which means the same old story. Find your workaround and get to work.
