Free Republic Straw Poll (January 2016 edition)
January 3, 2016 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 01/03/2016 2:58:47 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

My heart bleeds for you. LIfe is tough. Our opponents, determined to kill us in our beds, are even tougher. We need a Patton, not a Billy Graham, to lead the political life of the nation. We need strong Christian men to lead the spiritual life of the nation. To expect both in one man is unrealistic. There is only one Messiah. If you have Him, he’s got you, no matter what.

Family is visiting us here this week and I got an eye-opener when two educated, fairly conservative women almost gagged when I mentioned Trump. . So just a tiny personal thing but they were so emphatic I just wondered if this is a more widespread sentiment among somewhat non-political types who are voters

Interesting. Everyone I talked with over the Holidays was a. pro Trump and pro Cruz, about half and half. b. Very Worried about the election in November. Many comments like, "our last chance," "we're on the brink," "we're at a crossroads as a country," and, in general, people very worried about their children and grandchildren, jobs, debt, terrorism, Islam, immigration and you name it. .

I’ll NEVER understand this. ALL these conservatives pushing Cruz.
It’s the most hypocritical thing I’ve ever witnessed.

EIGHT years of all of them pissing and moaning day in and day out about the POSSIBILITY of Obama NOT being born on US Soil, but they have NO problem with Cruz.

If Cruz didn’t preach like a Baptist minister and was a democrat, they would EAT him alive and pitch an absolute fit over the fact this guy was born on CANADIAN soil to a Cuban Father who didn’t bother to denounce his Canadian Citizenship until he ran for president.
Even being a Senator wasn’t enough to make him do it! WHY????

I'm stunned to see the very many Freepers Cruz-BOTS on this thread, NOT knowing the NBC requirements to run for President. AMAZING ignorance when comes to at least 3-4 Anchor Babies not qualified to be in the race!!!

****************************************************

Ted Cruz was born to an American mother. He's a natural born citizen and patriot in every sense of the word and I will support him to the hilt if he decides to run and is the strongest conservative running!! In fact, if that happens, FR will be Cruz Country!!

Go, TED, GO!!

FU Tokyo Rove, Chris Cristy, Jeb Bush, McCain, McBoehner, McGrahammesty, McFlake, McConnell and ALL GOP-e RINOS!!

The tea party rebellion is on!!

Anyone can't live with that (as the say in Russia) tough shitski!!

Started voting in 1964, never once voted dem.

Trump’s admonition on contributions, to me means he will not owe them or us any loyalty beyond our one vote. That may or may not turn out to be something most Trump supporters support now. He could be just the medicine America needs, then again he could end up with 180 million wanting his head.

The one thing in his background that impressed me was his growing up going to church listening to his pastor Norman Vincent Peel.

If he gets enough Primaries to get the nomination, he’s got my support.

They must have a different Constitution or the interpretation of it in Texas, when it just fits into their selfish agenda !!!

” Teddy Roosevelt on the Fall of the Republic

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.” — Unattributed”

Your post of trying to SHOUT down the legal facts present, do NOT change the CONSTITUTION whether in Texas or other places in the United States of America !!!

The operative definition of Natural Born Citizen is as follows —

1. “As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.”
2. “The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent.”
3. “I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”

In short, if one gains simple US citizenship as the result of 14th Amendment naturalization statutes of any kind, they cannot possibly be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States, end of story!

Like Rubio, Cruz was born the son of a Cuban father who did not hold any form of US Citizenship at the time of Ted’s birth. Therefore, Ted’s father Rafael Cruz could not transfer Natural Born Citizenship to the United States, that which he did not possess at Ted’s birth.

Marco Rubio was born a “dual citizen” of Cuba via his father, and the United States via 14th Amendment naturalization statutes.

Ted Cruz was born in Calgary Canada on December 22, 1970, a “divided citizen” of three nations at birth, Cuban via his father, Canadian via his birth place and the USA via his mother, under 14th Amendment naturalization statutes.

The Natural Born Citizen requirement found in Article II of the US Constitution was placed there for one reason alone… to make certain that no one with dual or divided national loyalties via birth or blood line, could ever hold the highest office in our land, the office of Commander-in-Chief.

Sadly, the democrat party has thus far succeeded in violating Article II of the US Constitution with Barack Hussein Obama, son of Kenyan father Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., who at no time in his life was a citizen of the United States.

Instead of dealing with this very real constitutional crisis which becomes worse every moment it is allowed to continue, the RNC appears intent upon capitalizing on Obama’s massive fraud by pushing their own constitutionally ineligible darlings like Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Nicki Haley.

If any of these four RNC darlings were what they claim to be, true American heroes, they would all stand up, disqualify themselves from high office and demand the immediate removal and prosecution of Barack Hussein Obama for the most massive and deadly identity fraud ever perpetrated on the human race.

Here in my area of Florida's central Gulf coast, about everyone I talk to is for Trump. How do I know? Because I get lots of folks approaching me wherever I am to say a few words because my red Trump hat catches their eyes. Haven't had a nasty or a hater yet.

I have to say, in ALL honesty, no one, but no one, mentions Cruz in chatting, and I give them every opportunity...and I'll bet my last bippy a goodly number of them don't even know who he is except his name is somewhat familiar to them.

And if you asked them where Cruz is from, or ask then what one word describes his ideology, or what present office he holds, etc. not one would know shiite from shinola.

I'd just LOVE to do Jesse Watter's "Man on the Street" interviews for one-half hour on the main street district of my Florida town regarding Cruz.

BTW, I live in Realville, Florida....and Cruz just doesn't have "it".

Yeah, it’s illuminating alright. Your unhinged poster pal is denouncing Cruz as illegitimate to hold the office of the Presidency.

Wow, that's interesting. Hope Florida and New York go for Trump. Just the thought of it gets me going. It's been soooooo long since Reagan.

I hope this whole experience with Obama and the Clintons has the general populace waking up. . One hopes they're finally thinking, "Do we really want socialism for our kids and grandkids?"
