For months, Trump-fearing Republicans and the Trump-skeptical press have consoled themselves with the idea that there were clear limits to the celebrity billionaire's appeal. But during the Nevada caucus on Tuesday night, Donald Trump gave us all one more giant reason to worry as he wracked up more votes than Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz combined. Trump won a staggering 46 percent of the votes cast in what was a ostensibly a five-man race, far more than his mid-30s peak in the previous three contests and in national polls.
The Republican nomination does not yet belong to Trump: He has long polled better in Nevada than he does nationally, so his apparent momentum may be the result of a scheduling quirk more than anything else. Nonetheless, it's become increasingly difficult to craft a plausible scenario where any of his rivals can mount the type of comeback they'd need to pass him. It's unclear they even know where to start....

Landslide for Trump..easy it wont even be close except for the cheating
Last night I heard a quick blurb that the debate tomorrow? will be carried on our local radio station. Then I heard CNN will not broadcast to California. Could I have heard that right?
Slate always has our best interest at heart.
I doubt very much that Hitlery would win against Trump.
I think the disillusioned Sanders people would stay home in droves, and perhaps even revenge vote for Trump.
I also think she’s going to be very worn out, and he’s going to be all over her like ugly on an ape.
She could, however, beat Cruz.
Cruz does not draw anyone other than conservatives. Trump will pull in from the African-Americans, Hispanics, Democrats, etc.
They've given up on firewalls. They are now using bulldozers and flame retardant from helicopters.
...good luck with *that* one. I could see Trump winning either NY or California (depending on how the Hillary indictment or Sanders Jugend go...)
Good points and I agree.
Trump is going to attract many who normally vote Dem.
And Trump would hit her hard and never let up.
A Trump/Clinton election would be the reverse of 2012. Instead of conservatives staying home and not voting for Romney, it’ll be Bernie voters and blacks staying home and not voting for Hillary.
Trump will take the battle to the dims. He will call Hillary a criminal and crook to her face. He will call Bill a rapist and crook to his face and he will call Bernie a marxist commie to his face. I won’t be pretty.
I think without a doubt Trump will pick up more traditional Dem votes than any R candidate since Reagan. He will pull a higher than normal percentage of the union vote and minorities because they feel he will bring jobs back to America. To win he needs enough D votes to make up for the R’s that will stay home because he is the candidate.
Agree, Trump landslide despite vote fraud
Trump will fight back and win ugly.
Pray America wakes
This is from Slate!!! Hummmm!
I wonât be pretty.
It will be beautiful to watch, though.
I doubt if there’ll be as many Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents staying at home as the pundits and pollsters might think if Don Trump is the nominee.
(someone posted this on another thread)
Their whole shenanigan for Hillary is to make her play the little crying lamb girl, victim of men, and to portray the opposition as men outmto get women.
It is a typical ploy of irresponsibility but one which can be managed if whoever runs against her figures it out instead of being paralyzed like the idiot GOPe.
Firewalls? I think I get it. Blast Trump with everything they've got. The media seems to be schizoid about him. He's a racist pig he's good clickbait and more.
WAPO blah blah "can he be stopped?" (one headline). The other, GOP leaders, you must do everything in your power to stop Trump." That sounds pretty ominous to me.
How far will they go to stop him? I wouldn't rule out anything.
At the moment, I don’t think Hillary believes she’ll win. She’s in it now and she’ll go down in flames rather than drop out and possibly have another woman take her place.
