Ted Cruz garnering most delegates from Wyoming by Saturday afternoon

GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz is securing a majority of the delegates from county Republican parties in Wyoming, with over half of the results in Saturday afternoon.

Republicans in Sheridan, Sweetwater, Laramie, Hot Springs, Converse and Uinta counties selected delegates who are pledging to support the U.S. senator from Texas in the Republican National Convention in July.

In Albany County, Republicans selected a delegate who will support Marco Rubio, a U.S. senator from Florida.

The delegate from Teton County will support businessman Donald Trump.

Republican parties in all 23 counties are meeting Saturday to select delegates or alternates to the Cleveland convention, the second of a three-part process to nominate the president for the state's majority party.

Wyoming will send a total of 29 delegates to Cleveland. Twelve are being chosen Saturday. An additional 14 delegates will be chosen at the Wyoming State GOP convention in Casper next month, and three Republicans in state GOP leadership are automatic delegates: Matt Micheli, state party chairman, Marti Halverson, state committeewoman, and Greg Schaefer, state committeeman.

It will take 1,237 delegates for any Republican presidential candidate to receive a majority.

Of the remaining presidential candidates in the Republican field, Cruz is the only one to have visited Wyoming. He spoke in Cheyenne in August at a Wyoming GOP fundraiser. Kasich visited the state Legislature last January, although it was before he had jumped into the race.

Rubio has not visited Wyoming. On Friday and Saturday, U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, spoke to Republicans on his behalf at events in Teton and Sweetwater counties, Rubio's campaign said. And last month, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colorado, spoke to Republicans in Cheyenne.

Republicans in Natrona County, which this year selects an alternate to the national convention, selected a delegate who committed to Cruz.

Highlights from the counties:

•In Sheridan County, 45 Republicans voted for Cruz and 30 voted for Rubio. No delegates offered to pledge for Trump or Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
•In Sweetwater County, 45 people supported Cruz, 28 supported Rubio, 16 supported Trump and no one supported Kasich.
•In Albany County, 39 people supported Rubio and 37 supported Cruz.
•In Teton County, 21 Republicans supported Trump and 19 supported Rubio.
•In Laramie County, 141 people voted for Cruz, 38 voted for Rubio and 37 supported a delegate who signed a pledge to travel to the national convention not pledged to any one candidate.
•In Hot Springs County, 43 people voted for Cruz.
•In Converse County, 38 people selected Cruz and 35 selected Rubio.
•In Uinta County, 53 people supported Cruz.

Well, I’m not so sure (any more) that these folks are what they claim to be. They talk and sound more like radical leftists to me, more and more. And if that’s the case, then yes, Cruz really IS their enemy. Might explain a lot.

I remember how bad it was in 2008. Lots of trolls, lots of propaganda, an overload of BS. But this? I never thought I would see ‘this’...here.

Cruz is the one siding with leftist mobs.

That’s ridiculous and absurd....and patently wrong.

I did not realize he was this left-leaning. Shame on him. I do not understand how he could have won Wyoming. I thought it was a relatively conservative state. Then I recalled that it also supported Matt Shepard, had riots over his murder even though the guy was a drug dealer and pedophile.

It’s a typical Cruz win. Limited participation. This is not a real caucus - it’s closed to regular voters. Only pre-selected party delegates, like county chairmen and Wyoming Republican Party elites, I believe 980 of them, are allowed to “vote” (Which is why the vote count is so low).

This is essentially a convention.

So congrats Ted, you won the Establishment vote.

Low information, non-engaged uneducated.....wait...that's what the Canadian called Trump supporters. My mistake.

FUTC. Go back to Canada or wherever.

Cruz is the one siding with leftist mobs is the truth. TC, instead of denouncing mob violence directed at someone EXERCISING THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH AND ASSEMBLY sided with the mob.

No....he didn’t side with the leftist mobs. He blamed the protestors for their own actions. Therefore, you are either innocently mistaken or lying. I wonder which it is.

I did not realize this. I am disgusted with Teddy Cruz after his comments yesterday. And with Robot Rubio and Kasich. Obviously Cruz is no fan of freedom of speech or of our constitution.

My Super Tuesday Vote was Worse than wasted.

Ted’s Emails and Texts addressed to me now go to my Junk/Trash.

Now I’m wondering if I even want him as my Senator.

(I miss JrandomFreeper, I would love to read what he would post and thought of these latest turns of events. RIP John Dake, You are Missed)

Cornyn still needs to be replaced, maybe Ted too.

Okay maybe not most, but enough to matter if instructed to vote as a block.
