Cruz Very Close to Frontrunner Trump if Others Exit While Clinton Out in Front
The Jewish Press ^ | March 16, 2016 | Lori Lowenthal Marcus, U.S. correspondent

Clinton bested Sanders in all the March 15 primaries except for Missouri, and Cruz is now Trump's only competition for the Republican nomination.

With the exception of Gov. John Kasich taking his home state of Ohio, Donald Trump won or is projected to win all the March 15 Republican primaries. Trump came in second in Ohio. However, the race is very close in Missouri, with Cruz only a quarter point behind Trump with 62 percent of the precincts reporting.

Although Sen. Marco Rubio came in second in his home state of Florida, he saw the writing on the wall and suspended his run for the Republican nomination when he could not edge past Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton won or is projected to win in all the primaries, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Ohio and Illinois. As this article goes live, Sanders is ahead by two points in Missouri, with 68 percent of the precincts reporting.

Some pundits are likely to point out that if Rubio pulled out before today's primaries and if Kasich was no longer in the race, Cruz would have won every one of the Republican primaries. Had only Rubio pulled out, and if all of Rubio's voters voted instead for Cruz, the Texas senator would have still won Illinois and North Carolina, and come within two points of Trump in Illinois and within one point of Trump in Florida.

The delegate numbers get very close between Cruz and Trump if Rubio and Kasich were to send their delegates to Cruz.

eventually it won’t matter

Still enough winner-take all states that Trump will be strong in

How can Kasich even win PA when he won’t even be on the ballot?

To: struggle

. The establishment will throw money at Trump in behalf of Kasich and draw fire from Trump. There will be another debate. Kasich will not longer be able to act like the only man on the stage.

Actually with all the winner take all states, Trump still a great chance of getting all the delegates he needs

Winner takes all means, you get all the delegates with the most votes, no thresh holds or anything.

And Trump is strong in most of them

Cruz is done

2D,
Can we agree that Cruz/Trump are proof that the people have rejected RINO establishmentarianism? Now.. What happens if they destroy each other? I hope Cruz has the sense to know when to quit.

They are at the point of becoming meaningful, like a British political debate. Up until recently they were like a roller derby match. With Trump, Cruz and Kasich on stage, you have three very differ styles and potentially more room for substance. Kasich needs to press the issues he raised in Ohio and actually engage with Trump and Cruz. Both Trump opponents have to press Trump negatives. The numbers show that Trump is both unpopular and well-known among his non-supporters. Even Clinton shows better.

“Kasich is not getting out”

Kasich is determined to stop Cruz and Trump, and help himself, or even another establishment Republican, including PAUL RYAN, according to a CNBC report!

If you throw in Sanders, almost there. But Clinton is no sitting target. She is doing better as a candidate than I thought she would.

Yes, but the negatives don’t matter

People are not voting for Trump because they like him

They are voting for him because he is right

That is why the GOPe, DNC, MSM, etc don’t understand Trump and you to some extent as well.

You are correct.

Cruz will not be the VP choice. VPs are chosen to enhance general election chances, and that is not something Ted can provide.

Hopefully when Cruz returns to the senate, he can use the strength he gained in his national campaign to actually push through some successful conservative legislation.

No No. Kasich will lower Trump’s numbers. This is Kasich’s mission from now to the convention. Trump begins to wane at this point.

How many times has Trump peaked now?

To be replaced by who? ¿Jeb? or Rubio? Oh wait, i know! Carly!
