New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being vetted by Donald Trump's campaign as a possible vice presidential running mate, according to reports.
The New York Times and other media sources are reporting the campaign has sent official paperwork to Christie to start the vetting process. The reports are one of the first solid indications of who Trump, a businessman-turned-politician, might want on his ticket.
Other names that have been mentioned include Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and South Dakota Sen. John Thune. Other names – including former Trump's former challengers Marco Rubio, John Kasich and Ted Cruz – were also on the reported short list....

I definitely want someone who is young and healthy enough to take over in eight years. For that reason (among others), I don’t prefer Newt. I sort of like John Thune.
I prefer Christy less than almost any “republican”. Honestly, I don’t think Christy wins NJ for Trump, and he will alienate even more Christian conservatives.
Just my two cents.
Thune has been a great disappointment. Totally coopted by the GOPee.
Christie and Newt will be in the Trump administration. Christie will likely be AG. Newt, VP, or chief of staff. I can’t see a Trump picking Christie as a running mate.

Well I think Christie is an idiot RINO. I don’t think this would do a thing to help Trump.
Everyone on that list except Sessions is a globalist/RINO/Establishment. The worst Washington and the Republicans have to offer. Christie actually looks better than the rest on that list (with the exception of Sessions), like Thune, Cruz, Pence...Trump needs to think here like he does as a businessman: SUCCESSION PLANNING if/when his term ends.

He may be “vetting” him, but he’s not picking him. If the media has info on who it is, you can bet its NOT that person. Trump would not let this sensitive of an issue leak, unless he is purposely leaking false info to keep the press chasing their tails.
