New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being vetted by Donald Trump's campaign as a possible vice presidential running mate, according to reports.

The New York Times and other media sources are reporting the campaign has sent official paperwork to Christie to start the vetting process. The reports are one of the first solid indications of who Trump, a businessman-turned-politician, might want on his ticket.

Other names that have been mentioned include Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and South Dakota Sen. John Thune. Other names – including former Trump's former challengers Marco Rubio, John Kasich and Ted Cruz – were also on the reported short list....

Will your CDS keep you from casting a vote? There’s a good chance Cruz will be it.

Well, for Trump, Christie offers loyalty, a quality highly regarded by a Trump. I don’t think he’ll be Veep, but his role will be large. Most likely, AG.

Christie was one of the worst candidates the Repubs offered. I used to sorta like him, in spite of his aiding Obumer get relected, but the way he became dirty in the debates made me nauseous.

I think I’d take Lou Christie over Chris Christie.

Cruz's loyal devotion to globalism, open borders and immigration, an Establishment lawyer---that's what my thoughts about Cruz are. Those with TDS have never bothered to read about Ted and Heidi's last 15 years or else consciously support TPP and NAU, because Cruz's support for expanded immigration, TPP, and NAU are clear.

If you want to hype Cruz, you need to leave. Jim has made his position clear. You have a lot of gall to use FR to promote globalism. Besides, Cruz is holding out for President of the North American Union, which even being Canadian he would qualify for. I guess TDS has prevented you from researching that. You can post as much as you do---you need to spend that time READING for a change.

Rick Perry is a better idea. From the south, help with fundraising, former Gov (without the baggage of Christie)

hope this is another false report.

He may be “vetting” him, but he’s not picking him.

Exactly, that way he can appoint him AG immediately and get immediate confirmation to start arresting Hillary et al.

Of the eligible candidates, Sessions is the only one mentioned that is on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.

Duncan D Hunter

Jim DeMint

Rick Santorum

I still think Christie is getting AG. Newt is a much better choice. Or Sessions.

Duncan Hunter Jr. is my choice. He is young and a clone of his old man who I supported and voted for in 2008.

This is nothing more than the New York Times advertising the fact that they have no access to the Trump campaign. Would any of us believe Hillary if she told us who Trump is vetting? How is the NYT more reliable than Mrs. Clinton when it comes to Trump?

If anything, this is a Trump setup to make the Times look stupid. Or not, since they do such a good job of that on their own.
