Altamahaw (United States) (AFP) - While many see Donald Trump's presidency as a slow-motion car crash, the core voters who elected him are standing by their man, shrugging off the scandals and thrilled he is sticking it to Washington's establishment.
That was a common view at the auto races at Ace Speedway in rural North Carolina, where America's stock car racing tradition was born.
"I think the Democrats are trying to make things hard for him," Robin Hall said as she sat in the grandstands on Friday.
The 53-year-old daycare worker dismissed the chaos cascading into the White House in recent weeks as sour grapes from critics still shocked that Trump's populist revolt thrust him into the top job.
"They've got their so-called panties in a wad right now," she said. "They're not in control."
Exactly four months into his administration, Trump is by most accounts a leader under siege.
Democrats accuse him of obstructing justice by urging FBI director James Comey to halt an investigation into an adviser, then firing Comey -- the very person overseeing an investigation into his team's possible collusion with Russian meddling during last year's election campaign.
Reports have since emerged that the president passed secret intelligence to Russian officials during a recent meeting, and that the FBI has identified a senior White House official as a "significant person of interest" in its probe into Russian interference....

The source behind the New York Times Comey memo article is the husband of a Clinton advisor. Source Benjamin Wittes is married to Clinton advisor Tamara Wittes. Tamara Wittes was a senior advisor to Secretary of State Clinton and a senior advisor to the Clinton campaign.

Our only chance is if he comes back to a DC where the traitors and their enablers have been brought away in handcuffs. Then, surround himself with 100% loyalists, maybe drop all but a handful of staff. Bring in the likes of Rick Santorum, Sara Palin and Mike Huckabee, maybe even Dan Quayle. Why? The capacity for 100% loyalty.
If President Trump doesn't fight like civilization is on the line, nothing is left.
Trump is under siege by the demonic forces on the left, but the only scandals are of their own doing. The only way Democrats can win is if enough people believe their lies.

We didn’t vote the way they wanted so they’re making it clear that our vote doesn’t matter.
When I make comparisons, I compare what what the alternate reality would have been (President Hillary Clinton) rather than why the desired fantasy could have been (a second coming of Ronald Reagan). President Trump will never be President Reagan, but he is definitely better than Hillary would have been (and in my opinion, he will be better than any of the Bushes). To reiterate, if President Trump adds one or two extra Conservatives to the Supreme Court, then he will really have done his job to help Conservatism. He will have added a 'generational airbag' that will be in place even if Democrats gets the presidency for two to four more terms.

You've nailed it. That was the terrifying specter looming over the President Hillary horizon -- the final nail in our nation's coffin -- an unbreakable liberal majority on the Supreme Court ensuring a permanent left-wing tyranny.
Trump has apparently done well with his first pick (these things take time to determine.) A couple conservatives replacing retiring liberal justices would be like manna from Heaven.
I will still support Trump if shown indisputable evidence that every scandal and the dossier are true.

President Trump has violated no laws. The Left thinks that they can try and convict President through the media knowing that their evidence requires you prove a negative. It is like a kid saying there is a ghost in his closet. When you look in the closet and tell him there is no ghost, he tells you, “Even if you don’t see a ghost, that does not mean there I don’t see a ghost.” This situation is so insane, I think the strategy was derived from actual childish behavior. Psych-ops from the Left.

What the Democrats are afraid of, is that if a Special Prosecutor looked into the REAL Russian connection, they’d find The Clinton Foundation. And if a Special Prosecutor looked into The Clinton Foundation, found all the foreign lobbies, payments, etc. for a Pay-to-Play that Jesse Jackson Jr. could not dream of, Hillary and Bill would be in prison just like Jesse Jackson Jr. did but for far longer.
