Obama's right-hand man: Trump used our playbook to beat Clinton
Fox News ^ | May 31, 2018 | Gregg Re

A forthcoming memoir by Obama confidant Ben Rhodes includes the startling admission that the 44th president’s inner circle should have seen Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss coming – because President Trump was essentially using the Obama playbook to discredit her.

The New York Times published excerpts of the book, "The World As It Is," which describes outgoing President Barack Obama’s shock and disbelief at Trump’s election victory.

But Rhodes also seems to acknowledge that Trump used some of the same lines of attack employed by Obama during the hard-fought 2008 presidential primary against Clinton – minus what Rhodes describes as the “racism and misogyny.”

“I couldn’t shake the feeling that I should have seen it coming,” Rhodes writes in the book. “Because when you distilled it, stripped out the racism and misogyny, we’d run against Hillary eight years ago with the same message Trump had used: She’s part of a corrupt establishment that can’t be trusted to bring change.”(continued)

“Rhodes didn’t see it coming, because he had become part of the corrupt establishment that couldn’t be trusted to bring change.”

Rhodes didn't see it coming because he's clueless. Things that help people to not be clueless include having humility, being open-minded and self-reflective, and being smart enough to know that you aren't as smart as you might think. Those traits are frequently lacking in the pinheads who attend Ivy League schools and other ‘pseudo-elite’ universities - largely located on the East Coast. They're almost laughable, if they weren't so incompetent, self-convinced, and consequently dangerous.

I couldn't be more serious. These almost unfathomably overrated institutions turn out a generally unimpressive lot of group thinkers who are also indoctrinated with the belief that they are ‘the chosen ones’ who are better than / smarter than / wiser than most of the rest of society. The sad truth is that with track record of those who have come from these institutions, most people who graduate from them should probably never be allowed to hold public office.

The only thing the former 0bama staffers have going for them is writing books about how butthurt they are. Unfortunately, no one will buy them except other butthurt libtards.

You mean he got the massive propaganda system known as the Broadcasting media to cover up how corrupt and stupid you were and then make up crap about how great you were, all while asserting that voting against you is racist?

No, Trump didn't do any of that crap. He won by winning.

If he means Trump punched back, then that is true. First time in a long while we had a Presidential candidate that did not act like a little P***y.

One of the first things I noticed about POTUS was how he so often used their own tactics against them.

He out alinskyed the original alinskyites and very masterfully.

Before they knew or could face what really hit them it was too late.

It was a beautiful thing to witness.

And they all fell for it every time because they had never seen anyone on our side dare to even think about doing anything like that.

The endless tweeting that everyone whined about? (It’s just not presidential! He needs to stop!) Another brilliant tactic. He said something outrageous all of a sudden-like throwing a ball out of nowhere, then the dogs in the media started yapping and chasing that ball for days. Meanwhile on the other side our hero is getting things done.

I think that’s one of the main reasons they hate him so much.

He used their own tactics against them and beat them without mercy.

Lyng cheating bullies hate the taste of their own medicine.

They have a single-story "talent stack".

That's a grave insult.

Nonsense.

As a businessman, Trump saw that no one was directly marketing to the largest untapped political market in the country, and quickly branded himself as the one and only candidate who could deliver the goods to them.

And the icing on the cake is that he sincerely believes in everything he was selling.

That is how he beat the witch.

“She’s part of a corrupt establishment that can’t be trusted to bring change.””

gosh, Ben, how original! No one in the history of world politics had ever used that approach before obama did, and when trump used it, he just HAD to be copying it from obama, right?

Hardly....Obama used demographics to his benefit...blacks, Hispanics and dem loyalists. But Hillary couldn't meet his percentages.

He won ONLY because he was black. It was tricky but still, just a numbers game.

Trump on the other hand could see what they missed. There is a huge population of hard working, patriotic whites that Obama left behind...and so did Hillary. That's why she lost. She ignored us deplorables.

Ben Rhoads, like his EEO boss, is a lucky moron that happened to be in the right place at the right time. The echo chamber tells them how smart and clever they are when they are nothing of the sort. Trump, who actually built an empire, employed thousands and really negotiated difficult transactions does more in a morning than either of those two slackers do in a year.

To now, 18 months later, claim that the successful candidate had used the prior successful candidate’s “playbook” is lousy armchair quarterbacking, even by the left’s low standards.

Trump tore up and discarded every prior ‘play book’ and marched forward with his own views, his own words, and his own work ethic.

He outworked the left on every front, and the American People know there was something terribly wrong with the opposition team.

For Zero’s minions to now be struggling to reclaim some semblance of relevance and even dignity speaks volumes about the vacuum that is their policy platform...then and now.

Kind of funny - they want to portray their playbook as the standard for winning but have no reason why their pet candidate didn’t use it - anything to detract from how smart Trump really is.....”A flailing we will go.....”
