What's the deal with Justin Amash?

Posted on 07/04/2019 3:23:22 AM PDT by Jonty30

Why does he hate Trump so much?

While I doubt it, I will ask. Is this anyway a principled stance he is taking?

He's a politician. If he ever had any "principles" (which is highly unlikely), he lost them in the process of getting elected.

Ergo, everything he does and everything he says is directed toward the achievement of a political goal.

Does that help?

I have described myself on these threads as a conservative with a pesky libertarian streak. Justin Amash Is and a libertarian living rent-free in the Republican Party.

Amash had a problem with Norton filing against him in the district. Amash used the tweet against Trump to insert Lower into the race to eliminate Norton. Lower was DESTROYED by Norton at a recent Tea Party debate which will come out on video shortly. The SWAMP is pushing Afendoulis buy she has no charisma and will be done soon. Meijer is a Democrat with $50 million soon.

I understand that, but what goal would he have in mind by trying to damage the Republican party and Trump in particular?

Does he really believe that the Republican party could win if they opposed Trump?

All politics is local.

Without knowing much about Michigan 3rd District I would suggest the Universities in Grand Rapid are producing a lot of leftest voters.

He is pandering to the left hoping to get their votes.

It sounds like he is concerned about the fiscal situation and not because he’s an ideological anti-Trumper.

I can respect that position, quite honestly. The US is finished if the fiscal situation isn’t fixed and it won’t matter who is in office.

Western Michigan outside of Grand Rapids is very conservative, rural and agrarian.

You could be right. However, I do share his stated concern about the fiscals.

He’s about to get primaried. His actions show he values his Chinese business interests over the American people. This is his Hail Mary attempt to overcome that.

The same can be said for a lot of the United States. The big cities with large populations lean left while the rest of the state lean right. Unfortunately the numbers are against the right.

That would be it.

Frig. Why can’t we get good people who are patriotic, instead of a bunch of traitors?

...

The numbers are against Republicans, however, Conservatives outnumber liberals almost everywhere on a state by state basis. That’s why Republicans running statewide and higher races should run as Conservatives if they want to win and do what’s right for the country.

That’s what Reagan and Trump did.

“The Fiscal Situation”

Just print a few Trillion Dollar notes and “pay off” the debt. It’s a!l just fiat money, as intrinsically valuable as Monopoly bucks.

Has Mr Fiscal Conservative Amash the Arab called for a gold/asset backed currency?

If not, then he is just blowing smoke like every other Pol.
