I think I depise Lee worse than Romney.

Thank God for Romney!

He’s a big reason we have Trump!

I’d seen the signs that Lee had joined the ruling oligarchy, despite his constitutional pontificating.

He’s a phony.

Mike Lee is one of those vicious snakes Trump always told us the story about.

After proving Democrats tried to impeach based on empty evidence, it proves every other case is likely bogus, too.

After Muller and now this, the Democrats couldn’t impeach him if he publicly committed a blatant illegal act with abuse of power.

“Is one of their initials “Mitt Romney?”

It’s Romney and Sasse. And their staffers stirring all the noise in the GOP.

They rest of them are smart enough to know that Republican voters will crucify them if they waver.

The Dimms need 19 GOP Senators to flip for a conviction. I am more likely to be the Super Bowl MVP than that happening. But keep dreaming, Dimms.

They don’t need 19. Just a few GOP Senators to provide a bipartisan veneer to get the impeachment train rolling. After today it is clear they have them. Romney, Murkowski, Collins, Alexander, Wicker, etc., etc. Those retiring and not up for reelection will take one for Team Deep State.

If Mitt runs for re-election in 2024, Trump needs to endorse his primary opponent.

If Mitt runs for re-election in 2024, Trump needs to endorse a third party opponent. What’s good for the goose...

They’ll have Mitt Romney, Mike Lee, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins (but she wants to get reelected), and Lamar Alexander (retiring). Maybe add Mike Enzi (retiring) and possibly Tim Scott (who likes to virtue signal). I don’t think Rubio would vote to remove.

Not enough. And they know it.

More than enough. The goal isn’t conviction. The goal is to hamstring the remainder of Trump’s first term and demoralize the GOP base.

On the contrary. McConnell and Graham will coast to reelection thanks to Trump voters regardless of their roles in the coup. Most folks are just not paying close attention to this stuff.

All the Dems want is chaos and distractions in the Trump admin. The GOPe showed their cards today. They will not substantively support POTUS’s flanks on this. Aside from the usual suspects undermining him all he can count on from the GOP is gum flapping “support.”

Romney, Alexander, Murkowsky, Lee and Paul would jump on it like a vulture on a gut wagon.

Democrat claims Republican senators are ready to ditch Trump

Well, the RINOs have been trying to ditch Trump since he was elected. The problem is that if they ditch Trump's voters they will get about a dozen seats in the Congress in the next election.

They won't be able to do a deal with the Dems for their fair share because there fair share will be zilch.

I'm crying a river for them. They are in a tough spot and don't know which way to turn except to retire - which is an outcome devoutly to be wished upon them.

Indeed. Lee and Romney. Both Mormons. Both from Utah. Coincidence? I think not.

Such Republicans, if they exist in numbers greater then the thumbs on one hand will find that they cannot ditch Trump.

“If Mitt runs for re-election in 2024, Trump needs to endorse a third party opponent. What’s good for the goose...”

If Mitt still has presidential ambitions he needs to run in 2020 due to his advancing age (he will be 73 in 2020 and 74 in the first year of the next presidential term). If Trump is impeached, or resigns under threat of impeachment, Romney would likely be the GOP establishment choice over Pence.

Watch Romney. He may be maneuvering for the big prize. The press will support him, like they did McCain, until he wins the nomination. Then they will engage in nuclear warfare to destroy him. If Trump is impeached, and Romney is the nominee, the GOP base will stay home on Election Day, giving the Dems an electoral vote landslide and control of both houses of Congress.
