31% of liberals self censor!?!?!?

Not in my experience! They virtue signal and spout their politics ad nauseum!

I call complete bullshit to libs being afraid of ANYTHING except being labeled STUPID for their political views.

I think you, and most people reading this thread, are assuming that the number that 31% of liberals are afraid to express their political viewpoint is nonsense. However, the problem is that most of us are assuming an equivalence between our views and their views.

Perhaps we should consider that the libs who are truly afraid to express their true opinions actually have some pretty vile and violent views. After all, Antifa knew to wear masks even before Covid. They know that they need to remain anonymous as they engage in seditious behavior.

So, the 31% number could signal a large DNC underbelly of Antifa members.

That's very true for the Maoist radicals who have taken over the party, but I've no doubt this is the case for the bast bulk of working-class voters who have considered themselves lifelong Democrats up until now. These people are (privately) appalled at what they're seeing.

A great number of them are coming to Ronald Reagan's conclusion that "I didn't leave the Democrat party. They left me".

This is what my husband says. He believes that the abuse people have experienced or witnessed in recent years has caused MANY to keep what they think completely to themselves - and there will be a huge ‘silent’ vote for Trump in November.

Democrats are lying. Why do they have to worry? They won’t get stalked, beaten or their employers notified just because of their inane beliefs.

Look, when you have:

1. A young mother killed for saying "All Lives Matter."

2. Conservative-leaning students at universities being physically threatened.

No wonder people are highly reluctant to say they support Trump openiy.

I’d be willing to bet most of them realize it is a “no win scenario” in this political climate so they just keep quite about their real beliefs.

I have heard of several conservative-minded people being fired or reprimanded at their work because of words or comments in favor of republican/conservative ideas...

I have NOT heard of any liberal/democrats being fired or reprimanded for their political comments...

Same with me. My wife teaches at a private school and told me to shut down my facebook, as a parent could see it, and she could lose her job. Heck, my workplace is very liberal and I could lose my job to be totally honest. Have 4 kids to feed, so just can’t take that risk.

It is NOT that we are afraid to voice our thoughts, we have, over many times and years and it doesn’t do any good...

This government was meant ‘for the people, by the people and because of the people’ PEOPLE does not mean government people...it means the people that do the work...

All the government is good for is taking our money, abusing all of us, doesn’t matter what color or where we live, the harder that the government people can make life harder for us and easier for them, they are happy...it needs to be turned around, they work for US!!! President Trump is excluded from this post, he’s the ONLY one in government that is working for us...

Yes, its total BS. Liberals I know have no shame or shyness in expressing their unsolicited views. They feel totally safe to do so and actually, where I live, assume everyone thinks like them.

They perhaps have noticed that it could mean professional and financial destruction in a few short hours.

George Orwell would feel right at home here in the United States in the year 1984. We are just short of a daily 2 minute hate session.

just pointing out that we’re afraid for completely different reasons: them because they’re idiots and don’t want people to know it and us because we fear for our lives and livelihoods.

Big diff.

The Shy Tory Factor. It's been growing over the last few decades. As people find themselves getting attacked more and more over every "unpopular" or "controversial" subject (the number of which has greatly grown over time), they just don't respond to political questions, or even give the answer their antagonist desires.

I have personally observed this in the U.S. since the mid-90s. As cultural Marxism has infiltrated more and more of the media and education, weaponizing anything and everything, it's now SOP.

correct, exactly my point. If they are choosing to keep their mouths shut it’s because they know on some level that people will then KNOW they are retarded, whereas previously, they only thought it.

For conservatives, we risk violence, destruction and death.

I had a pro military license plate holder on my brand new car in Northern California and a person keyed it and cost $3300 to fix it. I took it off. I live a a conservative town, but rarely do I see a pro Trump sticker on a car, but see plenty of Bernie stickers.

Many people are moving here from the bay area and bring their liberal voting ways here. We currently have a conservative representative in Congress (Tom McClintock) but I’m sure it will change in a few years.

Some brave sole put a sticker on his big truck that said “My dog votes Republican.”

Yes, I recall the mob on Tucker’s lawn, and the sucker punch on Rand Paul by his neighbor. The Rand assailant got a mere month of community service. I can only guess but if someone sucker punches say Chuck Schumer, I imagine they would get a year of hard time.
