Teague: Congressional candidate should support NM energy industry

Harry Teague was the Democratic representative for NM District 2 who was elected in 2008 when Steve Pearce, the Pub representative, decided to run for US Senate (which he lost to a left-wing enviro-radical Martin Heinrich). Pearce won back the seat in 2010 but retired again in 2018 to run for NM Governor (which he also lost). Pearce was a very popular representative winning easily in all his races. He beat Teague in 2010 55-44% and won in 2016 with 62.7% of the vote. Yvette Herrell barely lost to Torres-Small in 2018 (50.9-49.1%) due to ballot harvesting by Dems with those votes posted after the early voting and election day votes were announced. So Herrell needs to get enough votes to overcome Dem fraud and Teague's endorsement will help. Unfortunately the mainstream press is not reporting Teague's support. I searched both the ABQ Journal and Las Cruces Sun-News and the only reporting is Teague's opinion piece in this link and the Journal reference in a piece about the oil and gas industry.

I don’t think Yvette actually lost to Small but that’s what they say.

In the primaries Lujan tried to make sure all pro-life Dems were defeated and she managed to get rid of 4 of the 5. I’m pretty sure there was some voter fraud in the defeat of our Democratic senator.

New Mexicans know that oil and gas revenues accounted for 39% of the state’s revenues in 2019. This was over $3 billion dollars contributed to ensure a healthy New Mexico. We must protect our energy asset to fund New Mexico programs like education, healthcare and law enforcement.

New Mexico must have a Congresswoman represent the 2nd Congressional district that knows and appreciates the impact the energy industry has on all New Mexicans. No elected official should vote for any program that will harm this industry, or any other New Mexico industry for that matter.

To that end, I have agreed to endorse the Yvette Herrell campaign that calls for unity, respect and dignity to all New Mexicans, regardless of their party affiliation, as well as a call to protect our important energy industry. Yvette will never vote against New Mexico energy. Yvette better represents my view of the needs of the second congressional district.
